In our province our minimum wage went up today. So this means I got a raise. Mind you it was only 50 cents an hour but it all adds up. We are scheduled for two more increases in the next year. So next year this time, if I’m still there, I will then be making $10.00 an hour. That’s not too bad for a waitress now is it?? After all these increases I am planning to increase my hours at work so by this time next year I should be making some pretty decent money.

Well once again this summer we are tied down to our home this weekend. My husband has to work this weekend so we really can’t do much of anything again this summer. I really have to say that this has been a waste of a summer as he has worked so much that we really haven’t been able to do a lot. He has been talking about looking for a different job and I really hope he does. Maybe then we might actually get some time off together to do some fun stuff with the kids.

In less than two weeks my kids will be back in school. This is going to leave me with a lot of free time on my hands (sort of). So I have decided to resurrect my home crafting business. With them home I’m really not able to get a whole lot accomplished, but when it’s just me here I think I really can make a go out of this. After their in school I plan on re-doing my crafting room, make a ton of crafts and set up a brand new website to show case and sell them. Honestly I can’t wait! I’m hoping to be able to get a small start on it before they go back to school, but if not, two weeks really isn’t a long time to wait.

So with only about two weeks left before the children are back in school, it’s crunch time. I have to go out this weekend and finish up purchasing the rest of their school supplies. This trip shouldn’t cost me quite as much as last time as I have managed to find quite a few online coupons to use for this shopping trip. Thank goodness for online coupons! If I hadn’t found them I’m sure it would have cost me just as much as last time. And really folks I’m getting pretty tired of forking out money just to get these two ready for school.

I honestly thought we were finished with all this hot, humid weather. But nope, it’s seriously warm in our area today and it’s not even noon. Now normally I absolutely love the summer but this year honestly I have hated it! It has been so hot and muggy all summer that I haven’t been able to get very much accomplished at all. By the time it’s dinner time it’s so hot in my house that all I feel like doing is trying to hide in some shade. But soon it will be fall and hopefully all this hot weather will be firmly behind us.

So last night my camera died so I have decided to purchase a new one. The camera that I currently own is pretty basic and this time I would like to find one that is a little more advanced. I have been checking out some camera reviews and have narrowed my search down to three different ones.

I find it quite amazing the different types of digital cameras that are now available on the market. A couple of the digital cameras that I looked at where a bit more money that I wanted to spend on a purchase like this, but I do love all the features that they offer. I know I’ll have to make a decision soon on what type of camera I want to purchase as the one I currently own does not work at all. Hopefully I find one that will last me a lot longer than the one that I currently own did.

Well the kids are half way through their summer vacation and I’m still sane! That’s quite an accomplishment for me. My two younger kids have a tendency to fight quite a bit so for me to be able to post that I haven’t lost my mind yet, is a major accomplishment. They now only have 33 days of summer vacation left (yes, I’m counting). So I only have about a month left that I have to try to stay sane. I can’t wait until their vacation is over. Then I’m going to have a mini vacation of my own.

Today is my daughter’s 12th birthday. So this post is going out to her.

I would love to wish you a happy 12th birthday Kara. I hope today is everything you hope it will be. And only one more year and you will be 13 (eek!) I wonder if I will survive this. lol
