Well, it’s Monday and I have both of the younger children home from school today. Both of them are extremely sick, and guess what?? they gave it to me. I just so….love it when they give me presents.
My young fellow still has the bad cough,(not as bad as Friday night), and now my daughter has a touch of the flue with all the nasties that goes with it. It has been such a long weekend here, taking care of them and their health needs and for me to wake up this morning feeling awful, was just icing on the cake. I think my daughter my be on the mend so she may be able to go back to school tomorrow, but I’m not too sure about my son.
As far as myself, I have been taking medication, so hopefully it will kick in and I’ll be good to go. Hopefully, as I have to work tonight and will not get home until about 1am. It will be a long shift, if this doesn’t straighten itself out.

My daughter is eight and is in grade 3. Next week it’s her turn to be special person of the week. For this special week, they need to either write a story about her and her family, do a collage of pictures or do a scrapbook. My daughter chose to do a scrapbook, as she recieved her first scrapbook kit for Christmas this year. I must say that she did an amazing job for a child of only eight years old. She did most of the work herself with just a small amount of help from me. If she continues on this trend of enjoying learning crafts, I think by the time she gets a little bit older she is going to be as good as me, if not better. lol

Being an assistant manager at a busy restaurant, I could tell you all a few stories. I have been employed there for six years, and I have certainly seen my share of bad behavior from staff as well as customers. The motto that has always been drilled in our heads as staff in the service industry, is the customer is always right. But, let me tell you, that this is not always the case.
I have had customers go up one side of me and down the other for something that was way out of my control. I have to stand there and take it as it is my job and they are the paying customer, but I don’t agree with this line of thinking at all. Sometimes some things happen that are out of the control of your server and you should really let up on them as it is not their faults.
As far as gratuities, I don’t honestly believe that you must always tip. But, if there is a problem and you’re server does everything in their power to correct the problem, they yes I think that a small tip to say thank you for going the distance would be appreciated. Sometimes the customer can’t afford to leave a cash tip and that’s OK. So, maybe they could just let their server know that they think they did a good job.
My motto in life is and will always be: you pay for the food, you tip for the service. But, maybe that’s just the waitress in me talking.

Well today was a very cold day for me at the rink. Both of my younger children went skating with their classes. So, I was stuck at the rink for three hours as their skates were one right after the other.
My six year old son brought tears to my eyes. He is just learning how to skate, and any other time that he has gone, he has used the pylons to help him stay on his feet. When he first came on the ice today the pylons were no where to be found and he got so upset that he started to cry. A couple of teachers felt bad for him so they went in search of the pylons for him. They found a couple which made him happy. He only skated for about ten minutes then asked to come off the ice. He said he didn’t feel well. So, I took him off the ice and took him home. When we got home, he was fine. I think the trauma that he first experienced on the ice made him not want to skate today. I really hope he does better next time as he really does love to skate.

After a hetic weekend with work, the family and housework, I always like to go in and see what all my friends have been up to over the weekend. I love reading about their adventures and it makes me feel like maybe I had been with them over the weekend. Well today was no different and here’s what I discovered that my friends were up to.
Over at Mesissa’s she had her first midwife’s appointment. Go on in and see how she made out. Over at snuzuloos place they discuss Salmonella. Very interesting read for those who don’t quite understand Salmonella.
I’ll be sure to keep you updated next week on more friends!

Well, I have finally bit the bullet and have decided to really try to achieve my dream of working from home. Currently I work full time as an assistant manager at a busy restaurant and I work shift work. They money is nice and it does provide the littel extras for my children. But, I am finding that I have to sacrifice quality time with my family and I am really getting so tired of this (so are the kids).
So, I have started looking into trying to sell my crafts on line and through consignment. I have taken a few steps in this area already. I have been doing a lot of research and have found that with enough hard work and commitment this dream of mine is achievable. So, I think the only obstacle at this moment is my own fear of failing. Of course, I’m not silly enough to quit my job with stable income, but the more I check into this opportunity, the more I feel that this dream can become a reality!

I live in a mobile home in a trailer park with my husband and three kids. Usually I feel quite safe there, but when my husband had to go away for a few days, I was a little scared. We live way on top of one of the hills and the lighting isn’t so good. But, he came and went and everything turned out. But, we have been looking for some better outside lighting at affordable rates. Well, I was just reading my friend Melissa’s Blog where she addresses this exact issue. If your like me and concerned with lighting for the safety of your family, then you really should come on check out to see what she has to say.

Who doesn’t love Valentines Day? I do!! First of all Valentines Day is special at our house because it’s also my husbands birthday. He’s 40 this year, but shhhhh don’t tell. lol
Because I work in a restaurant, and Valentines Day is usually the busiest night of the year, I usually end up working. This year I asked for it off, so I could do something special for him this year. I plan on taking him out for supper (and no, not to my work. I want him to have good service. lol), and then we will come back to the house for cake so the children can join in.
As for the kids, this is always a good day for them as they take their valentines to school and get others from other kids and then they have a party at their school. So, its a fun day for all.
What do you all do on Valentines Day?

Well, the renovations are underway again. Seven years my husband and I had an opportunity to purchase a mobile home. It has four bedrooms, a nice size bathroom, kitchen, living room and porch. We purchased it with the sole intent that after it was paid off we would sell it and use that money as a down payment on a house. Well, after seven years the place is payed off and we are getting ready to put it on the market.
During the past seven years, we haven’t put a whole lot of money into it. So now before we will be able to sell it, we need to make some home improvements. We had already started to renovate. We renovated the entire bathroom with a new toilet even. Now we are moving on to the floors and some paint for the walls and ceilings.
As mobile homes are much harder to sell then regular homes, we realize that we do need to put this extra work into if we want to sell it and see a good price. Once all our hard work on the renovations are complete I am confident that we will see a good return on our money and I can see our dream home not so far into the distant future.
