Lifes Like That

Romantic Gesture.

Romantic Gesture.

My husband and I have been together for almost 13 years and he still never ceases to amaze me. As I have been quite sick for awhile, but continue to go to work, he decided that he wanted to do something nice for me. So, at work tonight a dozen roses arrived by a delivery driver. All the card said was “Kim, just because I love you.” It didn’t make my illness go away, but it sure did make me feel a whole lot better. The girls at work were amazed at his generosity and all of them wanted to know if he had a brother (which he doesn’t). So, the roses had the desired effect. They made me feel better and made me once again appreciate the fact that this man is my husband. How sweet was that?!

My Friend Started A New Blog

As I currently have three blogs on the go right now, I know how difficult it is to start a brand new one on my own domain and to try to increase traffic and readership to. Well, I have a friend over at payperpost that just started a brand new blog on her own domain and think that she has started to do a wonderful job. I am a very active reader of all her other blogs and enjoy reading what she has to say. You can find her site at Angie’s Blog and one of the best things that I have discovered about her is that she enjoys crafting just as much as I do. So why not stop by and take a peek at her brand new blog.

Sick Again

As you all are aware of, about a month ago, I was really sick with this cold and flu. Well, I was able to get over it and go about my business when it hit me again. I have been sick with this cold and flu since Saturday. I’m really getting tired of this. This time I can’t even blame the children for passing on this wonderful present as I am the only one in the house that feels this bad. I’m still going about my day to day business as I am refusing to let this thing get me down. I am only hoping that I don’t pass it on to the kids and they get down and out with it as well. The cold and flu this season is a never ending cycle.

The Weekend

Well, today is Friday and the weekend is nearly upon us. What are your plans? Since my husband and I both have the weekend off, we have decided to take the kids on an overnight stay in a different city. We plan to travel for about five hours in the car (thankfully we purchased a car DVD player), do a little shopping and then rent a hotel room for the night. I think this adventure might be quite nice for the kids as they haven’t stayed in a hotel before. I think it will be great to get away and just cut loose. My husband and I haven’t done this in years, and never with the children, so I think this is going to end up to be an exciting weekend for all. Can’t wait, and I look forward to letting you all know how our “fun” day turns out!

Sold a craft!

As you all know, I am looking into possibly starting a stay at home craft selling business. Since I love to make any and all crafts I thought it would be quite neat to see if I could actually make a little profit off them. Well, I’d like to report that I sold my first craft at the new craft store that opened up in town. I made a sold a unicorn cross stitch. When pricing it, I only took into the cost of materials not my time. As this is still a hobby for me, there is no way I would feel comfortable charging for my time. Still after supplies I made a little profit. So, it was totally worth it to me and it gave me the incentive to create more!

The End of March Break

It may sound to you all that I don’t love my children. lol But, I really do. It’s just last week was a very long week for me having three kids home for an entire week. They got bored very easily so they tended to fight alot. And with the crappy weather that we experienced last week, they couldn’t even get outside to wear some of that energy off. I ran out of ideas to keep them busy, so I was so looking forward to them going back to school so they could see their friends and have something different to do. So, see I really do love them, but I also love my “me” time.

Spring has Sprung

I’m not sure why, but this year they have changed the day to when the time goes ahead to mark the start of spring. This year time will go ahead tonight which is three weeks earlier than any other year. I’m not real sure why they chose to do this, but I think it’s a great idea as it will make the days long, so there will be more sunshine longer which will help eliminate the snow. I think it will make it seem like the winter wasn’t all that bad and long. What are your thoughts on this?

Kid’s Furniture

I am in the process of remodeling my daughter’s bedroom, so I have been on the lookout for some unique and inexpensive kids furniture. I have found a site that will actually accomodate this need. They offer all kinds of different kid’s furniture in every style shape and color that you can imagine. This is such a fun site to browse as it gave me different ideas for her room that I hadn’t thought of. So, not only do they offer the biggest variety of kid’s furniture, but they are also very reasonable in price. So, if it’s for your son or daughter that your looking for furniture for, then this is definitely a site you;ll want to check into.

Frozen Pipes

Well today we woke up to frozen pipes in the kitchen.  So, no hot water for us.  I couldn’t do the dishes he,he.  So, we left the water on and it eventually did thaw itself out. (so, I am now doing the dishes).  We have been here for almost eight years and this year is the first year we’ve ever had a problem with frozen pipes.  I think maybe because this is the coldest winter yet.  I can’t wait for spring and the warmer tempretares.  Hopefully this time next year we won’t be here and we will have to worry about frozen pipes in our house.
