Here in Canada, we have a long weekend approaching.  It’s the Queen’s birthday.  So, most people have Saturday, Sunday and Monday off.  The kids in our school district have an extra special treat this weekend as they also have today off.  So, it’s a very long weekend for them.  Which makes it a very…..long weekend for me.  Today is only the first day and they have spent most of the morning fighting.  They are very close in age, they fight a lot.  So, if this is what it’s going to be like over the entire weekend, I’m going to have to find them lots of things to do to keep them amused, away from one another and entertained.  I can see that I’m going to have to haul out the craft box or these children are going to drive me insane. lol

Last night was my last shift at my job.  So, I can now officially say that I am now unemployed and am a stay at home mom.  I have a few mixed feelings about this.  The first being is that I am really happy that I have the opportunity to have the entire summer off to spend with my kids.  But, saying goodbye to customers and staff was a lot more difficult than I had originally thought.  Last night there were a few tears, a lot of hugs and a lot of well wishing.  I realized that it would probably be a little difficult for me to say goodbye, but I didn’t realize exactly how hard this would be.  But, the decision was made and now my time there is done so it’s time to move on.
