My daughter came home from school today with a brochure for to go to summer camp. Mind you, she is only eight years old so the decision was already made that she isn’t going. But, I let her explain all the benefits and activities that would take place at this camp and told her that I would discuss it with her father. I knew she didn’t realize that this camp was for a five day period, and when I mentioned this to her in front of her younger brother, he started crying really really bad. While he was crying he kept saying that “he would miss her”. They fight alot, but this little outburst on his part showed me that he really does love her a lot and he didn’t want to be without her even for one week during the summer. His outpouring of love for his sister brought tears to my eyes as it makes me so proud to know that this brother and sister love each other dearly and there is nothing they wouldn’t do for one another.

You all know that I love my kids dearly and I enjoy every small thing that they do for me to show me that they love me. But…..they can sure get me in some sticky situations. For instance, my daughter yesterday thought she would pick me some flowers on her way home from school yesterday, but unfortunately the flowers she picked was from someone elses garden. I have told her and her brother time and time again, not to pick flowers in other people’s yards, but she just couldn’t help herself. So, last night I had to go to this lady’s house and apologize for my daughter’s loving deed. Thankfully this woman is a mother and a grandmother so she completely understood the situation and made light of it. So, on our way home from the lady’s house I showed her what flowers she could pick and I encouraged her to pick me a lot of pretty “dandelions”. She now knows which ones are my “favorite” and hopefully we will never have a repeat of yesterday.

It is a well known fact, than when you feel that you look good, then you generally feel like you are healthier. But, if you have issues with the way you look, then your self esteem is down and usually you don’t feel as healthy and as good as you know you could. So, this reasoning I thing contributes to why there are so many people in the world today that look for different options such as cosmetic or plastic surgery to help improve their looks.
One area I find that people concentrate the most on is the face. So, I have been hearing a lot lately about people who are haveing rhinoplasty surgery done to help inhance their looks. As you all are aware, I have transformed a little space in our porch to a home office/craft room. Well, now that my oldest son has moved out on his own, there is a spare bedroom in the house. So, I’m moving back in. Out in my little room in the porch, I found it to be cramped and yes, a little lonely. So, I will start to tear apart the spare room and set it up for my own enjoyment. After he moved out, I didn’t say anything about the room as I figured I really shouldn’t get to greedy and maybe my husband would likt to make it into a TV room. But he was actually the one that suggested I move back in. The good thing about this was that we were going to have to re-do the room during our renovations, so now it will get done a little earlier. After I get all moved back in and settled, I’m sure my husband will take my old office/craft room as a TV room. So we will both have a little space to call our own. If my oldest son comes back for a visit, he will still have somewhere to sleep. He will just have to sleep around all my stuff. lol

My dad was an avid hunter and I’m pretty sure that his youngest grandson is going to follow in his footsteps. My father always hunted for food and never for just sport. My youngest son who is almost seven is very interested in guns, hunting and all aspects of the hunting sports. Of course at his young age, he needs considerable supervision and he needs the right equipment to practice with. I have found a site at airgundepot.com that supplies air guns, pellet guns, bb guns and replica guns. They have a wide variety of stock on hand, and they will also help you choose the right gun for your child or the situation in which you intend on letting him particpate in. I think that my son needs to be a little bit older before I would make this kind of purchase, but when we decide he is old enough and mature enough to try his hand at this sport this is definitely a site that I will make use of.

Obviously during the summer there are different activities that children engage in than during the winter. One of the things that my youngest son enjoys doing during the summer months is riding his little electric dirt bike. My daughter not so much. She will ride it for short spurts at a time, but my son would drive it around in circles for hours if the battery stayed powered that long. If he can’t ride the motorcycle, then he is constantly on his bike. Once again, my daughter not so much. She enjoys playing with bubbles, skipping or going to the park. So, not all children are the same and there is a lot of activities that are cheap and fun that allow the children to get so much more exercise than in the winter months.

What a great feeling. After almost six months of working on the same quilt I should have it completed in about two days. For the past two weeks I’ve put a serious drive on trying to finish it as it is already spoken and paid for. After this one I am going to take a break though. As I have discovered that quilting is not a hobby for me any more, it has become a chore. And, I have found that when your hobbies start to become a chore, it’s time to take a step back. So, as soon as I finish it and deliver it to the lady in question, I will work on other projects that I have on the go and hopefully when I decide the time is right to make another quilt, I won’t find it a chore any longer and it will be something that I enjoy doing once again.
Has this ever happened to anyone of you guys? Did you ever pick up a particular hobby after having a break from it and start to enjoy doing it again?
