Parenting is hard

Parenting is hard

Boy, you would think that parenting younger childern would be harder than parenting an 18 year old but I’m hear to tell you that it’s not.  A little over a week ago, my oldest son moved out.  The only reason for his leaving was because he turned 18 and was trying to make a point.  I have kept close tabs on him over the past week and I know he is OK but it doesn’t make things any easier.  Well, I got a phone call today from him that he has found a place to stay for $200 a month and I think that this is just super.  So, at least for now I know he will be eating properly and I don’t have to worry quite a much.  I’ll still worry mind you because that is who I am but not quite as much I hope.  So, don’t be fooled.  It doesn’t matter how old they are, parenting is still quite difficult at any age.

Online education

With the easy access we now have on the Internet, it is easier than ever to try to advance our secondary education. The only problem I see with this advancement is that there are so many sites offering us this incredable opportunity. Over at capella university you can obtain your secondary education. Capella university offers students the opportunity to get a diploma from an accredited institution without having to go into a formal school setting situation. You can read all about the programs they offer in their latest press release. There is also a great potential to recieve awards through this university. Tammy Alexander recieved her masters at Capella and has been awarded the 2006 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. This information just goes to show how highly thought of this university and it’s programs are. So, if an online education is something you’ve been looking into, why not drop by this site and discover how they can help you to obtain the type of education that you desire.

School year winding down

You can sure tell that the school year is finally coming to an end.  The two youngest children have brought home four permission slips to go on various activities to celebrate their year in school.  My son will be going to a different school to see a musical and he will be going to a nature park.  My daughter will be going to the Imperial theater to see a children’s production and she will also be going to the nature park as well.  They also will have a sports day dedicated to their individual grades and my son has a grade 1 closing.  So, for the next couple of weeks they will be kept quite busy and I’m sure will have the most fun they have had all year.

Awesome opportunity

My oldest son was just picked to go to a different province for the summer to study at a University to learn the basics of French.  Not only will he be able to learn all about the French language, but he will also get to experience their very unique and diverse culture.  This is quite an honor as there were well over 200 students that applied for this and only 10 got picked.  The great thing about this opportunity is the fact that they pay for the entire trip and everything while he is away.  I really hope that he realizes what an awesome opportunity this and takes full advantage of this situation.  I would have loved to be able to have done something like this during my senior year, so this is why I am very excited for him.  Hopefully, he has fun and learns a thing or two in the process.
