Lifes Like That

Today for the first time in years I played a small game of soccer with the kids.  Not only did it show me that I’m no good at soccer, but I also discovered that since the last time I played, I have gotten quite old.  Although I don’t weigh very much so I look like I’m in pretty good shape, I’m really not and this little game of soccer taught me that.  So, I think that this is another thing I need to work on over the summer.  Getting in shape so I can beat the pants off of my children in soccer. lol  But except for the fact that I am now feeling my age and then some, we had a lot of fun and I am sure they will convince me to play again.  And I probably will when all my bones stop creaking.

I have to say that most kids are so funny, but my youngest son really takes the cake.  Everyday with him is an adventure and you never know what he will do or say next.  So, this post is about him and his missing sneakers.

Even though it is near the end of the year, his sneakers that he was wearing were toast.  He needed a new pair.  So, we bought him a new pair and sent them to school with him on Monday.  But, the teacher never seen them and he never wore them at school (or so we thought).  But, when she went looking for them today she found them in another classroom.  They were his, but they were extremely dirty.  When he was questioned about it, he stated he doesn’t remember putting them in this other classroom and he certainly doesn’t remember ever wearing them.  But, obviously he did as they were dirty.  We think what happend was he put them on, got them dirty and then hid them because he didn’t want to get in trouble for getting his brand new sneakers dirty.

So, we may never discover how his sneakers got dirty if he didn’t wear them and may just have to let this one go as one of life’s little mysteries.  And, with my son, I’m sure there will be another mystery tomorrow.

Today my daughter’s grade 3 class is going to learn all about tie dyeing.  She was so excited this morning when she left for school.  Not only does this give them something fun to do, but she is also learning a new craft.  Which she enjoys so much.  The big surprise coming her way, is that I will be headed down there shortly to help out the class.  She doesn’t know I’m coming and I know she will be quite happy to see me as she does like it when I teach her new crafts.  So, I’m all set to get dirty and have a little fun.  With 25 grade three students, I know the teacher can use the help and if she is willing to get dirty for the cause then so am I. lol  So, I’m off to get dirty and I’ll be sure to let you all know how I, the teacher  and the class make out.
