A friend of mine is moving this week so the kids and I went down to her home on Monday for a barbeque. Today is such a gorgeous day that I thought for something fun for the chidren, I would take them to our local beach.  We have never been at this one, so I think this will be a nice treat for them.  Now that I’m not working I have more time to devote to them and for them to have fun.  So far they have had a pretty good summer and my daughter told me last night that she never wants me to go back to work.  I don’t think they realize that all this fun costs money and I just may need to go back to work after the summer is over.  But, for now I will just concentrate on having fun and I will worry about working later.

My husband’s mother just loves to play bingo, or she did until she got sick (she has been fighting stomach cancer for the past two years).  So, as a treat for her next week my daughter and I will be going down to her house and play TV bingo with her.  She probably won’t be able to play very well and that is where her granddaugher will come in.  My daughter is so excited to be able to go down and play for her grammie and this gives grammie some quality time to spend with her granddaughter.  So, I think it will be a good evening for both and if we win it will be a better one.

As you all know the kids are done school for the year and their summer vacation has started.  My two youngest who are eight and six really love school.  So, them being home and not in school is kind of bothering them so they take it out on each other.  Something really has to give or it’s going to be an extremely long summer for me.  All they have done for the past two days is fight with one another.  I know part of this is because they are bored and would still like to be in school.  So, hopefully they get used to this time away from school and make my summer days a little less stressful.
