Needing quilts

As you all know the family and I have been doing a little camping.  This past weekend we had a lot of fun but I discovered that having a sleeping bag each was not enough to keep us warm.  Although the days are quite warm the nights are still very cool and over the weekend I was very cold while trying to sleep.  So I have decided that making the jean quilts for the camper is a little more important than making the curtains.   So for the next week, after the children have gone to bed, I will be back to sewing these quilts.  It’s quite funny what motivates me to start making quilts.  The last one I made was for some profit but I just couldn’t seem to get it done.  But, now that I have found that I am cold during the nights in the camper, I think these quilts will get done a lot faster.

Online education

Now that I am unemployed I have given serious thought to furthuring my education. But, being at the age that I am I really don’t look forward to going back to a formal school situation. So I have been looking into obtaining an online mba program through capella.edu. You can read all about the programs and courses they offer in their latest press release.

Capella University offers a wide variety of courses and programs for you to choose from. You can obtain a degree in education, technology, human services, business and host of others. They are a fully accredited university so you know that education you recieve from them will be a first rate education. So, if you are like myself and thinking about taking an online course then I highly suggest you check out all Capella University has to offer and get yourself ready to do some serious online learning.

The maid is back

After being away for the long weekend, I walked into our home and discovered that the maid also took the weekend off.  So, I guess today will be the official day that the maid returns back to work.  There is so much housework to do today that I don’t even know where to get started.  But, it has to get done and since I am the only one who does it I’ll have to get cracking.  Hopefully I can get most of the work done and be able to take the children outdoors later as it is their summer vacation and I don’t think they want to sit here and watch me work.

Cat problem

We have had our cat now for over two years and just love him to death.  He is a great pet for the kids and they really enjoy having him in the family.  There is only one problem with this cat, he scratches everything.  It is because of him that we can’t buy new furniture for our living room as the furniture that we now have is completely ruined due to his scratching.  We have spoken to a vet about this and his only solution is to get the cat declawed.  Unfortunately to do this we have to pay a pile of money that we just don’t have.   But, we can’t continue to have him ruin our furniture.  So, it looks like we may have to say goodbye to him.

My husband has found him a good home to go to but I know that the kids will be heartbroken and this is what is bothering me at the moment.  So, my question to you all is do you have any experience in this type of thing or do you have a solution to our problem?
