For all you Canadians, you know exactly what I mean by “toonie”, but for you others, this is a form of our Canadian money. The toonie coin replaced the $2.00 bill and the “loonie” coin replaced the $1.00 bill. Now that the history lesson is over, I can get on with the post. LOL
Every year around this time of year children and parents from all around Canada get involved with the “Terry Fox run”. Terry Fox ran across Canada years ago raising money for Cancer. He lost his fight with this disease, but his memory lives on. So today at my kid’s school they will be doing a Terry Fox walk. For their fund raising efforts they have all been asked to bring in a toonie for Terry. They were quite excited about doing this and this morning they were both bugging me for change. So today they will be walking for Cancer research and my young son really hopes that all the money collected will help the researchers find a cure. They are so proud to be a part of this event.

Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to accomplish a lot in life that I tend to loose focus. So, I’m happy to report that I have my focus back and I have made a decision about my online activities. I have decided to fully concentrate on all my blogs instead of blogging and doing some freelance writing jobs. I have discovered in the past couple of weeks that I don’t have enough time to do both and I made the decision to give up freelance writing and just stick to my blogging. Out of the two, I enjoy the blogging so much more. I did discover that you can make more money online through freelance writing, but once again, I have determined that the money is just not worth it. So, from now on I am committed to making all my blogs better and then hopefully when Google does ever decide to update the page ranks, I will see a small success for my efforts.

Anybody from Canada will know exactly what I’m talking about. Years ago there was a man called “Terry Fox” that had Cancer and needed to have his leg amputated. But, he still ran on an artificial leg all across Canada raising money to find a cure for Cancer. Unfortunately he died, but his memory most certainly lives on. Every year around this time of year there are many runs and walks in support of what he what he was trying to accomplish and in his memory.
My daughter came home from school and informed me that her school would be participating in one of these walks on Friday. The school has asked that the kids bring in money as a donation. The amount of money doesn’t matter, just the donation itself. This morning she came out of her room with her dollar that she earned doing dishes and informed me that she was giving this money for the cause. I think this is extremely wonderful as she wants to donate her own money for this very worthwhile cost. We gave our son some money as he didn’t have any money himself, but if he had any money, I know he would have given his as well.

My little fellow was quite sick yesterday after school. After he gets off the bus he usually goes up to the playground to play while we wait for his sister. This gives him about an hour to play. When the weather is nice we do this, but when it’s not, we usually go home for a little while. Yesterday when he got off the bus he asked if he could go sit in the car. He said his leg was hurting. I didn’t think his leg was hurting as he wasn’t limping. But, I told him he could go sit in the car for a little while. When I went to check on him to make sure he was OK, he was sound asleep. I knew then that something was up. He layed around all night with a small fever so I figured he wouldn’t be going to school this morning.
When he woke up this morning he still had his fever so we gave him some Advil and he decided he was going to stay home. Ten minutes later he was fine, said the medicine helped and wanted to go to school. It’s amazing how quickly kids bounce back. But, I am expecting a call from the school to go get him as I still don’t think he is 100%.

Well my two years is almost up. Every two years I go and get my hair cut whether I want to or not. The reason for this is actually quite silly. It takes me up to two years to convince myself to try a different hair dresser. In my 39 years, I have never found a hairdresser that I like. For some reason any hairdresser that I have came into contact with does not listen to what I have to say. They are always trying to convince me to try something new. This something new usually involves puffy hair of some sort. And, if you know me, you know I’m not a puffy hair type of gal. But, my two years is up so I need to go and try to find that perfect hair dresser once again.

One of people’s favorite hobbies is collecting some form of art. Not only are they extremely attractive to look at, but over time these pieces can become quite valuable. To be able to get involved in something like this, you need to find a reputable art gallery like the Park West Gallery to make your purchases from. This gallery is the largest gallery in the world to display the fine arts. They conduct their art auctions all through the United States and Canada. Their affiliate company, Park West as Sea, holds cruise ship auctions around the world. So, if you’ve been interested in starting an art collection of your own and didn’t know where to find the best art gallery to begin this, then I highly suggest that you drop by this site and begin your collecting today.

Yesterday I received news that my uncle passed away over the weekend. At first I was royally mad because no one in the family thought to call me and inform me of his passing. The only reason I found out when I did was because I went into the online social network over a Facebook and read a post on one of my cousin’s profiles. To say I was not impressed was a serious understatement. But, what can you do? Family is family right? Well I have gotten past my anger and now I am just sad. My uncle was only 55 years old and was way….to young to die. It’s not right and it’s not fair. But unfortunately in life, sometimes things aren’t fair. I feel really bad for his two kids as they are both only in their 20’s and I know (from personal experience) what it’s like to loose your dad to this insane disease (cancer). But hopefully after life quites down they will be able to start to move on.
As far as my family goes, I’ll just keep doing what I do. Love them in spite of themselves.
