World’s greatest student trophy

Yesterday my youngest son got off the school bus so excited.  He received a “World’s greatest student” trophy from his teacher.  He explained that he got this trophy because he answered all of the math questions correct.  He was so happy that his teacher liked his work so much that she gave him a trophy.  And he gets to keep it!!  That’s the major thing that I love about the kids school.  All the teacher’s and faculty praise the children so much when they do good work, that it makes the child feel special.  This in turn makes the child like school and want to do their very best.  This positive reinforcement goes a long way with my children and it is because of little things like awards and trophies that make my kids love going to school and love to learn.  I wonder what today will bring??

    Kohl came home with a sticker because he spelled his name right. Well he was some excited over his sticker and he says he will do his work good tomorrow so he can get another sticker.

    Gosh if only it was the case here in Mauritius.. if you get 97 marks in a subject, your parents will show a sad and disgussed face asking where are the remainin 3 marks :S and the teacherswill never do such a thing like giving a trophy..
