We need to purchase a viewsonic monitor for our kid’s computer. Their computer is seven years old, so really this doesn’t come as a major shock to me. But the problem is, is that sometimes the monitor is more expensive than replacing the entire system. This is why I was quite happy to see I could get a re-furbished model at less than half the price. For the kids computer, where they mainly play games and do a little homework, this type of model and this price is absolutely perfect for what we need.

Yesterday my daughter came home from school looking pretty pitiful.  She said she hadn’t been feeling good all day at school and when she told her teacher she wasn’t feeling good the teacher told her she was sure she could make it.  My daughter then informed me that she didn’t make it.  Obviously she did as she didn’t call for me to go get her.  All she has is a cold, but was insisting that she wasn’t going to school today.  She seemed OK this morning and did go to school.  But it was touch and go there for a little while.  LOL  I think part of her problem is that in the mornings at the bus stop she has been taking off her coat.  When I explained this could be the reason for her cold she did agree to keep in on from now on and this morning the coat did stay on.

My daughter who is in grade 4 has been wanting to learn the violin for about two years now.  But, you have to be in grade 4 to start the beginner lessons.  This year she is finally able to participate but because she is left handed we thought this may not be possible.  Well today she had a meeting with the violin teacher.  She told her that she is left handed and wondered if that would be a problem.  The teacher informed her that although she doesn’t have any left handed violins, she has taught left handed students in the past so she can’t see this as being a problem.  So this is great news for Kara, not so great for me and my ears.  Just kidding.  I can’t wait for her to start playing and for me to be able to start going to her concerts.

Oh my!  Christmas is coming and I haven’t even started shopping yet.  What got me to thinking about this upcoming holiday is that just today I read on some one’s blog that they have been Christmas shopping.  And, I haven’t!  I know it’s only September and there really is plenty of time, but life has a way of running away from me and if I don’t start soon it will be another year of last minute shopping for me.  For the life of me, I don’t know how people get all their shopping done early.  My grandmother usually has hers done by August and she has a lot more people to buy for then I do.  Oh well, I’m not that stressed about it yet!  If I’m still posting in December that I haven’t started will SOMEONE, ANYONE please stop by and give me a swift quick boot.  LOL

I am highly confused here today.  I know this is a normal state for me.  But, this type of confusing is new to me.  The only thing that I require of my children when it comes to cleaning in the home, is to keep their rooms clean.  This is an every day fight.  They just don’t want to do this.  This is why I was extremely shocked yesterday when my youngest son was begging me to let him clean the house.  What I don’t understand is if he hates cleaning his room so much, then why is he begging me to do more cleaning.  Maybe it’s a different type of cleaning he wants to do?  Whatever.  I don’t think I’ll ever understand kids and I have had 18 years experience in this.  So I don’t think I’ll ever get it.

Yesterday on our way to my husband’s fathers house we seen someone having a yard sale.  So just for kicks, we decided to stop in and see what they had for sale.  Most yard sales consist of a lot of junk or they charge unreal prices for their junk.  But, we were seriously surprised a this yard sale.  The prices were really good.  I ended up getting six books for $1.50.  You can’t beat that.

Sorry Tammy, you don’t get these ones as they will be part of my collection of V.C. Andrews so I won’t be passing them on to you. LOL  It would be nice if all yard sales were like this.  Maybe it wouldn’t cost me such a fortune in books. LOL
