The one thing that we as parents seriously hope for for our children is that they are able to live a long and healthier life then we have even been able to experience. What this BP Solar Decathlon entails is that the company BP partners up with the Department of Energy to host the Solar Decathlon. This happens every other year with 20 university teams getting involved with designing, building and operating a completely solar powered house. This year the event will be taking place from October 11-19. BP is sponsoring this event to prove their commitment to society that they are the industry leaders in the solar power field. They are the major sponsor to this event and are the only energy sponsor this year that has been involved in this event since 2002.
