If you walked into my bathroom right now and opened my medicine cabinet, you would be amazed at all the different types of pain relievers that I always keep on hand. I have pills for just about every pain that anyone could ever imagine. I even have pills to give me some PMS relief. Everyone of these pills do help out in their own individual ways and I take them sometimes at different times during the month. I only use medications like these for my more sever symptoms. If I have a small amount of pain, I usually work through it. So, although it looks like I have a lot of pain meds on hand, I don’t usually take them a lot.

Now with the Christmas season slowly creeping up on me, I have been doing a lot of thinking about what kinds of presents I would like to purchase for my kids. My youngest son is really easy to buy for as he is totally in love with video games, so I am going to purchase him a playstation 3. Now that he is older and has already proven himself capable of owning and taking care of a video game system, I have no problem spending the extra cash to purchase him a better system. My daughter, on the other hand, is another story. As she gets older, it seems like it is more difficult to find purchases for her.

As you all know, my daughter was accepted into her school violin program. She is so anxious to get started and today will be her first official day of starting to play the violin. Over the weekend, we got a message from her teacher that for some reason the school doesn’t have enough violins for all the children to play, so they are asking that if any parent can afford to either rent or purchase a violin for their child, it would be most appreciated. Well my father-in-law has a violin for my daughter. He just needs to take it somewhere to get it fixed. The good thing about this violin is that the violin is already set up for a left handed player. So, later this week she will have her own violin and this will ensure her a spot for sure in the program. So once again, Grampie came through for her.

Yesterday we made our annual weekend visit to my husband’s father. He is still quite lonely, but seeing the kids really does perk him up quite a bit. As a surprise to him, we took him out to dinner. He seemed to really enjoy this outing and got a real kick with having dinner with the kids. Then we went back to his place and he made some molasses cookies for the kids. They helped him cook these little treats and when it was time to go home, he filled up a baggie full of cookies for the kids. He really does enjoy spending this time with them and they really enjoy spending time with him. I wish that we lived closer to him than we do so the kids could see him more often. But, for now we just spend time with him on the weekends and he seems to really look forward to this time.
