I need your help!

A couple of weeks ago, I posted here on this blog about a very neat scrapbooking contest that I had entered. This contest is being hosted by Christine Murphy. All I needed to do was write a post about why I want to win this amazing contest and then I would be entered. I did that. Now the next step to me winning these amazing products is that I need lot of votes. This is where I am asking for all your help.

If you would please drop by Christine’s and vote for Kim I would be eternally grateful! You only need to vote once, but if you would like to help me out even more, you can go in every day until October 31 and place your votes.

I really, really appreciate all your help in this and hopefully on November 1 I will be able to post that I won this contest with all your help.

We need a garage

Right now we have three vehicles in our yard. I have my car, my husband has his car and he also has his work truck. Because he drives the truck back and forth to work everyday, most of the time his car is just sitting in the yard. He mentioned the other day that he really wished that we have a garage to store his car in for the winter. But, really our yard is too small for this type of thing. So the next best thing that I suggest he should purchase would be a car cover. Although car covers are not quite as good as a garage, if you have limited space such as we do, they are the next best thing.

Blogging world

For the most part, I am thoroughly enjoying all my experiences in the blogging world.  I have learned so much in this past year about the Internet and how to set up and maintain my own personal blogs.  But there is one downside to blogging that I seriously don’t understand.  This would be how petty some bloggers are and how nasty they can get concerning other people’s blogs.  I personally have not experienced this type of experience first hand, but I know of some bloggers that have and this distresses me quite a bit.  I have yet to understand why other people would get upset and nasty about things posted on other people’s blogs.  I really makes no sense to me.  The way I see things is that if I come across a blog that I don’t really care for, I just don’t read it.  I really don’t understand why other’s can’t do this, but would rather bash the blog owner and sometimes actually harass them.   So, although my experiences have been fine so far…I know there can be an ugly side to this all, and I am prepared for this just in case.

Pain relief

If you walked into my bathroom right now and opened my medicine cabinet, you would be amazed at all the different types of pain relievers that I always keep on hand. I have pills for just about every pain that anyone could ever imagine. I even have pills to give me some PMS relief. Everyone of these pills do help out in their own individual ways and I take them sometimes at different times during the month. I only use medications like these for my more sever symptoms. If I have a small amount of pain, I usually work through it. So, although it looks like I have a lot of pain meds on hand, I don’t usually take them a lot.

Christmas shopping

Now with the Christmas season slowly creeping up on me, I have been doing a lot of thinking about what kinds of presents I would like to purchase for my kids. My youngest son is really easy to buy for as he is totally in love with video games, so I am going to purchase him a playstation 3. Now that he is older and has already proven himself capable of owning and taking care of a video game system, I have no problem spending the extra cash to purchase him a better system. My daughter, on the other hand, is another story. As she gets older, it seems like it is more difficult to find purchases for her.

Her own violin

As you all know, my daughter was accepted into her school violin program.  She is so anxious to get started and today will be her first official day of starting to play the violin.  Over the weekend, we got a message from her teacher that for some reason the school doesn’t have enough violins for all the children to play, so they are asking that if any parent can afford to either rent or purchase a violin for their child, it would be most appreciated.  Well my father-in-law has a violin for my daughter.  He just needs to take it somewhere to get it fixed.  The good thing about this violin is that the violin is already set up for a left handed player.  So, later this week she will have her own violin and this will ensure her a spot for sure in the program.  So once again, Grampie came through for her.

Nice visit with Grampie

Yesterday we made our annual weekend visit to my husband’s father.  He is still quite lonely, but seeing the kids really does perk him up quite a bit.  As a surprise to him, we took him out to dinner.  He seemed to really enjoy this outing and got a real kick with having dinner with the kids.  Then we went back to his place and he made some molasses cookies for the kids.  They helped him cook these little treats and when it was time to go home, he filled up a baggie full of cookies for the kids.  He really does enjoy spending this time with them and they really enjoy spending time with him.  I wish that we lived closer to him than we do so the kids could see him more often.  But, for now we just spend time with him on the weekends and he seems to really look forward to this time.

Housewarming party

After years of living in an apartment, my husband’s sister bought her very first home. So next weekend we will be having a housewarming party for her. Because she has lived in an apartment for many years, she doesn’t need a whole lot of new stuff, so I have been looking at purchasing her something fun and different. I have found a site over at rolandsgifts.com where I have been able to find a lot of interesting and different housewarming gifts to choose from.

They sell so many different items and products, that I honestly had a hard time making up my mind on what to purchase. But I did finally settle on two personalized door mats. One for the back door and one for the front. Not only can you purchase personalized door mats, but you have a wide variety of other products to choose from such as address plates, crocks, house signs and a wide variety of personalized gifts. So, if your in the need to purchase any type of personalized gift, why not drop by this site and choose one of their many products with the personal touch added in.

Social networking

Anyone with a blog knows that one of the most important thing that you need to do is to get it noticed by readers and to have them to keep coming back to see what you have written.  I have found several different methods of achieving this, but one of the methods that I use quite regularly is participating in some social networking sites.  The two best sites that I have found would be Facebook and a newer one that has just started cre8buzz.  Cre8buzz is a very unique site as the only sites that are included in there are blogs.  You have the opportunity to check out other people’s blogs and they have the opportunity to check out yours.  Although this site just launched I really think it will be one of the best social networking sites on the Internet.

You can only join this site by an invitation by an existing member, so if you would like to check out this site to try to increase exposure to your blogs, just let me know and I’ll send you an invite.  But hurry!  I only have three left.

Boy….he was crabby this morning!

My youngest son, who is normally so happy go lucky, showed me a side of him this morning that I don’t normally get to see.  That would be his extremely crabby side.  I haven’t seen this side of him in a very long time and for a little while, I was unsure as how to deal with him.  He had a fit because he couldn’t get his own way.  And, when he left and got on the school bus he still had a miserable look on his face.  Hopefully for the teacher’s sake, he will come out of this mood.  But if he doesn’t, the teacher’s at his school are going to see a side of him that they have never seen before.  Hopefully by the time he gets home from school he will be back to his old self once again, and we will be able to put all this crabbiness behind us.
