What I am most thankful for is my family.

The last few years have been pretty rough on our family as we have lost a few family members. In 2004 I lost my dad and my mom within four months of each other. And recently I lost my mother-in-law and an uncle. So I have learned the hard way that life is way to short and everybody should value any time that they have with their family members. I have also learned the hard way that family members can be a pain and very insensitive, but because their family, I love them in spite of themselves. Not only do I cherish the time that I have with the elderly or small children, but I thank god everyday that I found my husband 13 years ago. He is the best thing that ever happened to me and I really don’t know what life would be like without him. So, it is for these reasons that the main thing in life that I am thankful for is my entire family.

As most of you that read my blog are aware of, I am not very technology savvy. Yes, I can run a computer or a digital camera, but as far as anything advanced, I am way out of my league. Not only do we get to contend with a major tropical storm to, but I also have two kids here at home that are sick.  This is not fun and this is why I think we will end up having a very quiet weekend at home this weekend.  The storm has already started in this area.  It is now pouring quite heavily and the winds have started to pick up.  Combine this with two cranky kids and that doesn’t make for a very nice weekend.  So, with it being so quiet around here I should get lots of housework done and hopefully get a good chunk of work done on the latest quilt that I have been making.
