Lifes Like That

Now she’s sick!

Now she’s sick!

Seriously folks.  Over the past couple of weeks I just can’t seem to win.  First it was my youngest son that was home sick from school for a few days, then last week my husband was home sick for a couple of days, and yes, today my daughter is home sick from school.  I really am getting to the point where I’m going to erect a hospital sign outside my doorway and just start taking in all sick people. lol  But, I know that she is really sick as today is one of her violin days and if she wasn’t sick, she certainly wouldn’t be missing it.  Hopefully when she starts to feel better all this sickness will be far behind us and we can all get back to our normal routines.  But, with my luck after they are all better, I will catch it!

Back in the good old days

One of the favorite places where my kids just love to go is to an old historic village that is an hours drive from our home. At this location you are given the opportunity to view exactly what life was like back in the 1800’s. Not only are you able to witness them in their day to day lives as far as cooking and caring for livestock, but you can also view all their clothing styles which of course includes corsets. When I was a kid I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this attraction and now my kids seem to be following in my footsteps. I wonder if their kids will appreciate this location as much as we all do??

They are all on the mend

Well after a long couple of weeks with people being sick in my house, I am happy to report that they are all on the mend.  Actually the only two that have been really sick has been my youngest son and my husband.  But, both of them today seem to be feeling a whole lot better than they had been.  This is really great as we have so many plans this weekend so them feeling better will make our weekend a whole lot better.  We have a Christmas craft and flea market to attend, a visit to Grampie’s and a Santa Clause parade to attend tonight.  Thankfully with everyone feeling in better health, this weekend should be a very good weekend for the entire family.

Getting in shape

A couple of years ago, I bought a membership to a gym and tried to get into a routine of getting in shape. Let me just say that that didn’t work out quite to my expectations and that phase of my life ended. So, I have been thinking about ways on how I would be able to achieve an optimum fitness level without having the commitment of going to a gym. I have decided to purchase some exercise equipment and turn my little room off the porch into a home gym. I actually think that I may stick to this better than an outside gym as the equipment will be right here in my home and I wouldn’t have to make myself leave the house to get involved with this type of activity. So, I’m going to give this a try and hopefully I can keep up my motivation to obtain the fitness level that I have been trying to get over the past couple of years.

His first checking account

I am a little nervous these days. My oldest son just informed me that he just opened his first checking account. This makes me nervous as he is not really careful with money and I am so afraid that he will forget how much cash he has in the account, start writing a lot of checks off it and then start incurring a lot of fees. I really hope that he does better with the account then I think he will and doesn’t mess up his credit further by incurring a lot of extra fees. A lot of kids his age (18) can handle having a checking account of their own, but he is not one of them. Hopefully he surprises me.

Full house

Today my youngest son woke up this morning with a massive fever.   So, yes that means he is home from school once again.  I’m really hoping that this is just a 24 hour bug and not a relapse of what he had a couple weeks ago.  Then, about an hour after my husband went to work, he was walking through the front door.  He is sick!!  So, I have a full house today.  The only one that is not doing too bad is my daughter and she is currently in school.  I will be so glad when this flu and cold season is behind us as this may make it so I have my house to myself once again. lol

Accessories for your T.V.

Unfortunately when a person purchases a brand new T.V. for their homes, that usually leads to another purchase. That would be a tv mount for the unit. You really can’t have a new T.V. and put it on an old mount. That’s what I think anyway. So, until I save up the money for a TV mount, I will not be making a purchase of a new T.V. I will make the purchase when I have enough money to pay for both. How about you guys? Would you wait on the purchase of the T.V. until you get the money saved to be able to purchase any accessories that you want with it, or would you just go ahead and make the purchase anyway?

Different type of gift

With the Christmas season fast approaching, the gift giving season is rapidly approaching. So I am sure that you all are trying desperately to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Well, I have discovered a very interesting type of gift that anyone can give and they would be highly appreciated. Purchasing custom photo gifts would be a very unique gift for anyone to receive. Not only can you choose the perfect type of photo frame to give to someone, but you can also get this gift customized in any way that you wish. This shows the receiver that you have taken the time to do a little bit of extra research and that you are giving them this gift completely from the heart.

Going to do some sorting

Today outside the weather is pretty crappy.  Last night it snowed and today it’s very cold and windy so I have decided that today will be a day that I will spend sorting out all my craft supplies.  The other night when I went out shopping I bought a few small containers for my crafting supplies and today I am going to sort them and put them into different containers.  This way when I decide to do a project, I won’t have to go searching through all the boxes for all the items that I will need.  So, although the weather outside today isn’t very nice, I think that I will still get quite a bit accomplished.

Purchasing furniture

There are so many furniture stores around now that a person really has no excuse on not being able to find the perfect piece of furniture if they so choose. There are all kinds of specialty stores around as well as big department stores to choose from. All a person needs to do is to do a little bit of research, shop around for the best prices and then make their decision. With the ease and availability of the Internet these days, all you need to do is make your purchase online and then you can have your piece of furniture delivered to your door step. How easy is that??
