Today outside the weather is pretty crappy. Last night it snowed and today it’s very cold and windy so I have decided that today will be a day that I will spend sorting out all my craft supplies. The other night when I went out shopping I bought a few small containers for my crafting supplies and today I am going to sort them and put them into different containers. This way when I decide to do a project, I won’t have to go searching through all the boxes for all the items that I will need. So, although the weather outside today isn’t very nice, I think that I will still get quite a bit accomplished.

There are so many furniture stores around now that a person really has no excuse on not being able to find the perfect piece of furniture if they so choose. There are all kinds of specialty stores around as well as big department stores to choose from. All a person needs to do is to do a little bit of research, shop around for the best prices and then make their decision. With the ease and availability of the Internet these days, all you need to do is make your purchase online and then you can have your piece of furniture delivered to your door step. How easy is that??

A couple of weekends ago, we went to a wedding and I seen the most unique type of groomsmen gift than I had ever seen before. Traditionally when people choose gifts for their attendants, they will give them cuff links, watches, or pen and pencil set. Well this bride and groom did something different and if I was ever to get married again (not!) I would take a page from their book. They give all their attendants a day pass at a spa. I thought this was so unique and different, that I would have been highly impressed to receive a gift like that myself.

This weekend in Canada we have a long weekend a head of us. Sunday is our Remembrance day. So the kids and my husband will be home on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The kids are home today as well due to teacher’s meetings, but my husband is at work. Well we have a very busy weekend planned for this long weekend. Tonight I will be going out to do some Christmas shopping. Tomorrow the kids have a birthday party to go to and then tomorrow night we will be taking them to the theater to see the Bee movie. On Sunday, we will take our trip up to my husband’s fathers to see him and Ruffles. I’m thinking with all this going on over the weekend, that Monday will be a day of rest and relaxation to get us all rested up for the short school and work week. So, what’s on your calanders this weekend?

Not me. But, that’s OK. As you all know, about a month ago I entered a scrapbooking contest. I bugged most of you for a couple of weeks to go into the site and cast your votes and I have to say you all did an awesome job!! I really, really appreciate all the time you all took to try to help me win the contest. But, unfortunately I didn’t win first place. But, I did win second place and that prize is pretty cool to. I won a year’s subscription to a scrapbooking magazine. So, I still won something pretty cool and something that I can use in my scrapbooking hobby.
So, first of all I would like to THANK each and every one of you for all your votes and if it hadn’t of been for you all, I wouldn’t have even come close to second.
So, THANKS!!

Since both of the kids were sick this past weekend, we didn’t go anywhere or do anything special. We just stayed inside all weekend to try to get them better. So, I spent a lot of time sewing over the weekend. The doggie quilt that I started for a friend of mine that I used to work with is really coming along quite nicely. If I keep up this pace with it, I should be ready to put the stuffing and back on it within the next couple of weeks. It is a very easy quilt to make and a very easy pattern, so this is why it isn’t taking me quite so long to get the work done on it. My friend is going to be really surprised when I call her to tell her it’s completed. When I am finally done with it, I will post a picture of the finished product. So, look for a picture to be posted here within the next couple of weeks.

One of my best friends lives way out in the country. She lives so far out, that she needs to take a boat to be able to get back and forth from her house to our town. So you can just imagine what her cell reception is like. It is a serious pain when she calls me from her cell phone. Because of the type of reception she gets most of the time I can’t hear her clearly and on a couple of occasions I have actually lost her in mid conversation. I keep telling her that she needs to move closer to me so we can talk better, but I really don’t think she will ever move away from her boat! lol

Thanksgiving it coming up pretty close in the United States and because of this, Jenn has decided to hold a contest. To enter the contest all you need to do is a short post on what your most thankful for. Drop over to her site and let her know where your post is and then your in!
What I am most thankful for is my family.
The last few years have been pretty rough on our family as we have lost a few family members. In 2004 I lost my dad and my mom within four months of each other. And recently I lost my mother-in-law and an uncle. So I have learned the hard way that life is way to short and everybody should value any time that they have with their family members. I have also learned the hard way that family members can be a pain and very insensitive, but because their family, I love them in spite of themselves. Not only do I cherish the time that I have with the elderly or small children, but I thank god everyday that I found my husband 13 years ago. He is the best thing that ever happened to me and I really don’t know what life would be like without him. So, it is for these reasons that the main thing in life that I am thankful for is my entire family.
How about you??
