When I was growing up, the doctors discovered that I am highly allergic to a lot of drugs. So my parents bought me a medical alert bracelet for my allergies to penicillin. I was a very good girl and wore it all through my teen years, but as I got older I didn’t wear it and now I don’t even know where it is. So I really need to go looking at some different styles of medical alert bracelets, buy one and start wearing it. As I have gotten older, I have developed more allergies to different other drugs, so I really need to find one where I can list all my allergies. I know it’s not safe for me not to wear one, but I am so slack in these matters. But, I am going out looking and hopefully I’ll find one that works out for me.

As most of you know, my daughter is taking violin lessons through her school. Just before Christmas she became really sick and missed quite a bit of school time, which meant that she missed quite a bit of violin practice. Because of this, she lost a lot of what she learned and when it came time for her to play in the school Christmas concert she really didn’t want to as she didn’t feel that she was ready. She did participate and did a great job, but it was kind of a fight to get her to go. But, over the Christmas break she practiced a lot and she is now caught up with her violin class. So yesterday when the teacher announced that they would be performing in another concert at the end of the month, she got really excited. I think she is looking forward to this concert because she knows that at this point she is caught up with the class and she will be able to participate to her fullest extent for this concert.

Honestly, sometimes I really don’t understand myself. A couple of years ago I purchased my laptop and when the sales person asked me if I would be interested in purchasing the extended warranty for my laptop I said no. I really didn’t want to spend the extra money for a warranty that I figured I wouldn’t need. The only thing about this warranty that I wasn’t thinking really clearly about, was that if you purchased it you also were able to get a laptop battery for free. Boy, am I kicking myself now as I now need a new one and I will have to go out and pay for it myself.
That’s why it’s a good thing that I found a site over at allbatts.com. Over at this site I will be able to purchase a new laptop battery at a pretty reasonable price. Not only do they sell laptop batteries, but you can also purchase any other type of battery that you may need from this site as well. This is a really good thing for my house as it seems like everything we buy, whether it be toys or other gadgets, requires batteries. So, I am headed over to this site to find my new laptop battery and hopefully in the future I will have learned my lesson and possibly purchase any extended warranties on any other products that I purchase.

I swear that the kids spend more time at home than they actually do in school. Today is another snow day so the kids are home from school once again. Their enjoying their day at home, but me not so much. I can never get very much accomplished when their home and today seems like it is going to be one of those days. They were already bugging me before 7:00 am about going outside to shovel the drive way. After our last snow day adventure of trying to shovel, my answer was a polite no. Hopefully the snow will stop falling and I can get the kids back in school tomorrow so I will be able to have the house to myself and get things done.

I am so…not a morning person. It doesn’t matter what time of the night I go to bed, when I wake up in the morning I am always tired. So, first thing in the morning, I start piling the coffee to me. My kids even realize how bad I am and they don’t even talk to me until I have at least two cups of coffee in me. After two cups, you can usually talk to me, but that doesn’t mean that I’m fully awake. It’s really no wonder why I go through so many coffee makers in my house. When this coffee maker breaks, I honestly think I’ll need to invest in a funnel and maybe that will help me to wake up first thing in the morning.

Today we were out truck shopping. If we find one that we like and can afford then we will be replacing my husband’s current vehicle with a truck of some sort. The main reason we are looking at this type of purchase is because we do a lot of camping during the summer and this summer we would like to purchase a newer bigger trailer. But to get a bigger trailer, we need to have a vehicle that would haul something bigger than what we currently have. Also I just love all the auto accessories that are available on the market today.

As you all know, I have an 18 year old son that does not live at home. He lives quite far away and wasn’t able to make it home for Christmas. Although this was disappointing in itself, what made me especially sad and upset was that during the Christmas holidays he didn’t even make an effort to call his younger brother or sister. Honestly at one point I wondered if he was tucked away somewhere in a mesothelioma clinic. Because I couldn’t contact him or get in touch with him for over two weeks I wondered if anything had happened to him. Well he did finally e-mail me so I know that everything is OK for now. But, it was still disappointing for the kids not to hear from their older brother during Christmas.

Currently we have two spare rooms in our home that we could do something with. One of the rooms I have already taken over as my home office. The other room my husband has decided that he would like to use as a home gym. So he has been pricing up different weight equipment to put in his room. I think this is a really great idea for him as during the winter he tends to put on quite a bit of weight as he is not as active as he is in the summer. So I think a home gym would help him to balance his weight during the winter. The kids are quite happy about this decision as well as they enjoy using the exercise equipment themselves.

My husband has been employed as a mechanic for the past ten years at the same company. For the most part he really does enjoy working at this particular place, but lately he has been feeling that a change is needed. Not sure if it’s a midlife crises, or if it’s just time to move on. lol So yesterday he took his resume to a couple of other job sites to see if he gets any bites. I’m not real sure what he would do if another company expressed interest in him (he despises change), but I guess we will soon see if someone does actually call him. So, there could be some changes ahead in my house and I’m not really sure if were ready for all that. But, if it makes him happier to start looking around, then I say “all the power to him”.

My husband and I were talking about our dream home again last night. Right now it is just a dream but hopefully in the not so distant future, it will become more of a reality. I’m really a basic type of person and I don’t have really big dreams for a new house, but my husband has big dreams for what he would like to have. On the top of his list is a fully functional home theater system and layout. This would include home theater sconces, a wet bar and even a popcorn maker. Although this is only a dream for us, it would be a really neat thing to have in our house, especially with the kids being so small. They would get such a kick out of this arrangement and maybe they would then stop bugging us to take them to the theater so often.
