Lifes Like That

The rich and famous

The rich and famous

You know after listening to the news I have to wonder if being a celebrity is all it’s cracked up to be. Yes, they get well known and have lots of fans and make lots of money, but at what cost? The cost of their fame is them having to grow up so quickly which makes them do things which they might not other wise do. This would be wear the excessive use of drugs and alcohol would come in. When I hear about yet another young celebrity headed off to an alcohol rehab center I have to wonder if the fame is worth it. When my daughter sits and admires all these young stars, I always try to explain to her the cost of being a young famous person. I hope all my lectures stay with her if she ever decides that she wants to try to become famous.

The hunt is over

After searching through hundreds of themes, I finally found one that I am extremely pleased with.  I love the new look as it is so bright and cheerful.  The only thing I despise about changing themes is the fact that I have to put in all my widgets and codes into the new theme.  But I think I have it all completed and now I can get on with posting and not have to worry about design for a day or two. lol  So this site is good to go which means I can go work on some of my other’s that I would like to spruce up.

Please let me know what you think of the new theme.  I would love to get your feedback.

Theme hunting

When I transferred this blog from host to another, I pretty much grabbed the first theme that I saw to get this blog back up and running.  Now that everything is all transferred over and looking good, I have decided that I am going to try to find a different theme that I like better.  Now, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this theme, but I don’t find that it stands out very well so I’m going to see if I can find something that will.

So if you drop back in here in the next couple of days and see a major change, now you know why.

Another birthday party

Some days I  wish my kids weren’t as popular as they are. lol  They have been invited to yet another birthday party.  The invitation was kind of for both of them, but the child who is having the birthday is really only a friend of my daughter’s.  My son was only going to attend if one of his buddies was going.  But since his buddie isn’t going, I am not going to take him to this party.  He can stay home with his dad.  He isn’t really upset that he  isn’t going as he has plans to go out on the four wheeler with his dad.  I really hope this is the last one for awhile as it is starting to get a little expensive.  I’m glad they are so well liked, but when it comes to spending money, sometimes I wish they weren’t quite so popular.

The wait is over

Finally after a couple of months of hounding the mail lady, my refund for my taxes was in the mail yesterday.  So I headed to the bank and cashed it right away.  I can’t take the chance that the government may have made a mistake. lol  So last night I headed out to the craft store to purchase more beads.  Thankfully it’s crafting that I’m addicted to and not drugs, or I seriously think I would have to admit myself to our nearest drug rehab center. But honestly, the only time I go on a major bead shopping spree is when I do receive extra money, so I’m not that bad yet. If I have to go without, I will. So I don’t think I’m headed to a “crafting rehab” center just yet.

They got the gold!!

Yesterday I posted that today I would be attending my daughter’s violin competition.  There were a lot of kids present and a lot of schools represented.  It was a very long day listening to each class play their selections.  But…the good news is, they won the GOLD!!  My daughter was so…impressed.  The kids worked really hard at learning to play the violin as well as learning to play these special pieces.  And for their efforts to be awarded this way, was just icing on the cake.  Now the competition is over, but she is still on cloud nine.  As this was her very first competition, coming in first was a major joy for her.  You can bet that she will remember this day for a very long time to come.  As will I.

Building up my credit

Different people apply for credit cards for different reasons. The main reason why I applied for a couple of credit cards was because I needed a way to build up my credit. I didn’t have bad credit, I just didn’t have any credit history at all. And, because I have been extremely careful with my cards, I have found this to be an excellent way to build up my credit. Maybe you need to Apply For Credit Card for a different reason than I had.

But if your anything like I am, you will find this process highly confusing. There are so many different types of credit cards out on the market these days that trying to decide which card will work best for you can get quite confusing. That’s why it’s great to have sites out there like creditcardflyers.com that can help you in your decision process. Not only do they supply you with all the essential information that you need requiring any type of credit card, but they will also supply you with a list of Fair Credit Credit Cards which may be of interest to you. So for whatever your reasons are for applying for a credit card, why not drop by this site and let them help you with all your credit card decision making.

Won’t be around much tomorrow

Well tomorrow we have a very long day a head of us.  Tomorrow is my daughter’s violin competition so I won’t be around too much tomorrow.  Although I really don’t think they will win (they have only been playing since November), I really hope that she enjoys herself.  This competitions and performances are the main reasons why she joined this program and if she has fun, then she is more likely to continue on with this program in future years.  Her teacher says she has a gift and it would be an awful shame if she didn’t continue.

So after we get back tomorrow, I’ll try to pop back in and let you know how she made out.  I’m sure she will do just fine.

More scrapbooking done

Yesterday I started to go through all my old pictures so I could start scrap-booking again. Although I have three scrapbooks on the go (one for each kid), I decided to start a new one with old pictures of my family. I have included pictures of my dad’s parents as well as my mom’s. I spent a little over two hours just going through the pictures and wondering what life was like back then. If the pictures of my grandmother are any indication, I’m thinking life wasn’t too much fun back then. In most of her pictures she has a very unhappy look on her face and I’m seriously wondering if that’s because she had to wear a corset. I don’t think I’d have a very good look on my face if I had to dress the way they did back then. Thankfully I was born when I was when jeans were a girls best friend. But these pictures do portray my family so they will be included in the final process.

The spring cleaning has begun

I am highly impressed with myself this year. The first of last month I decided that I was going to give my house a complete face-lift and get down and dirty with the spring cleaning. I have accomplished all I wanted to do and now all I need to do is rent a steam cleaner to get all the floors into tip top shape. As this is the first year in seven years that I haven’t worked outside of the home during this process a lot more got done and a lot quickly. So now with the nice weather I won’t have to stay inside and clean and I won’t have to feel guilty when I’m spending extra time outside with the kids.

I do honestly amaze myself sometimes.
