Lifes Like That

I really should fire the maid!

I really should fire the maid!

posted in Family, home |

Oh wait.  If I did that, I would have to fire MYSELF and we can’t have that happening now can we?!  Sorry for the rant, but it’s days like today where I get so fed up with my family and the messes they make.  I don’t understand how they can make such a mess when they are either in school or at work.  But they do and I’m the one left to do all the cleaning.  I’m getting so…tired of cleaning!  The only thing I ask of the two younger kids is that they keep their rooms clean.  After walking down the hallway this morning and seeing the rooms in the state they are, I just started seeing red.  But I refuse to clean these areas as well.  And, my big kid (hubby) drives me crazy because he makes messes and just leaves them laying about.  For instance he took apart a little dirt bike the other night that wasn’t working and guess where the bike and pieces now are??  In MY home office.  I wonder how long they will stay there.

So now you know why I should fire “me” or quit.  I’ve just about had it!

You may want to look into “The Love & Logic Institute” for the kids.

As for your husband. Bag the whole mess and put it in the front seat of his car!!!

Or better yet, on HIS side of the bed so that he can’t go to sleep until he deals with it.

You need boundaries and I’d say your office is most definitely OFF LIMITS for such activities. if you let them get away with it now, it will only get harder later when you really get fed up.

Would they prefer you have a ‘breakdown’ instead?

It’s just like on the airplane - you put YOUR air mask on first, then you help others.

As for firing the ‘maid’ I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT or you will go absolutely crazy.

You could pull out everything from the kids’ rooms but their bed… it’s a Love & Logic thing.

I remember those days so Good Luck!

p.s. my daughter is grown & in the Navy and tells me that she is the neatest one in her berthing. i asked her ‘who are you and what did you do with my daughter?’ since she was so VERY messy when she lived in my house…

I refuse to go near Aurora’s room. Once every couple of months I supervise her giving it a good cleaning, but that’s it. I don’t get paid enough to clean up everyone’s crap. Hey wait….I don’t get paid at all. LOL!

I’ve been married for six months… I’m the maid too, and after much complaining (and begging) for help around the house…I’m guessing it’s of a husband nature to not notice messes. BAH!!!
Thanks for the entry… I feel the same way today!
