The best first day of school EVER!!

posted in Kids, school |

This was my son’s very first statement to me when he got off the school bus on Tuesday. This pleased me so…much. My daughter who is in grade 5 this year had my son terrified to enter grade 3. She had told him that ALL the teachers in grade 3 were mean so any teacher he got would be a mean one. Well lets put it this way, he was not quite as excited to go back to school as she was. But no worries, apparently he did not get a mean teacher. Matter of fact, the teacher he did get has never taught at this school so know one knows what she’s like. But apparently she must be very nice for my son to have taken such a strong like of her on the first day. Now he’s happy to go to school and is usually the first one out the door first thing in the morning.

This pleases me as it means that he will probably have a pretty good year this year. And when Daniel likes a teacher he will try even harder to do his best to please her, so this attitude may reflect in his grades as well.

That’s wonderful news. Glad you son got a break and likes his teacher. How you view your teacher definitely affects how you do in that class. I had the meanest teacher ever in 4th grade and that was just a nightmare. I hated school at that point, all because of the teacher! The teacher really has a lot of influence and makes a world of difference in a student’s attitude. Fortunately, I had mostly decent teachers.

That’s good that your son likes his teacher. I know a lot of kids that I take care of have a hard time getting used to their teachers and actually liking them. Well I guess it depends on the child and the teacher.

Nice blog. My daughter went into third this year too-she loves school and I couldn’t be more pleased! She even wants to take choir, as she loves singing!
