This weekend my husband and I will be attending our first auction. The funny thing is that the auction site is just down the road from us but we’ve never been to one. The main reason why we are going to this one is because they have listed all the auction items in the paper and they are selling a lot of good used office furniture. I have been looking for some office furniture to put into my home office and I’m hoping I can get some good pieces at a really good price. As I’ve never been to an auction before, I’m not sure what to expect. But even if I don’t end up purchasing anything, I’m sure I will get a real big kick out of the whole experience.
How about you guys. Have you ever attended an auction?

Now that were not in any real big hurry to sell our home and purchase a new one, we do a lot of looking on the Internet for houses that are up for sale. We only look at them to determine the different prices that they are going for and to see what kind of decorating ideas we can incorporate into our current home. We have gotten a lot of great ideas by doing this. One house we looked at this weekend had the most gorgeous bathroom that I have ever seen. They had such unique bathroom faucets that now I want them. We did print off the picture of the bathroom faucets. So the next time we are in the hardware store we are going to see if we can find them. I really hope we do. With faucets like these, our bathroom will be the nicest room in the house.

When the kids first started talking about Halloween and the costumes they would like to wear this season my husband told them that we would find them a costume from stuff we have at home. It really is a waste of money to pay of costumes every year when they can only use them for one year and they only wear them for about an hour. The kids were OK with this and really weren’t that disappointed that we were not buying costumes.
But a trip to the dollar store this weekend changed all that. We bought our daughter a devil’s wig and our son an army hat. So with a little bit of face paint and these two items the kids will be going out in regular costumes after all. It didn’t cost a whole lot of money and they are happy with what they are going out as. So it all worked out in the end.

With the Christmas season fast approaching, I have been trying to decide what fun and unique ideas that I could come up with for Christmas cards for the family. Well I think I now know what I’m going to do. And with only 63 days left until Christmas, I would say it’s about time. This year I’m going to give all the family members Christmas Photo Cards. I think these cards are probably the nicest and most unique cards that I could come up with year.
I have just found a site where I can get all the cards I need for all the people I need to give cards to at a very reasonable price. I can get them to customize all my cards just the way I want them. They have so many different options to choose from as well. I can get photo folded cards, photo 95×210 mm cards and foil-accented photo cards. Normally I make the cards myself, but this year due to time restraints I just don’t have the time. So I wanted to find a place where I could just order the cards, tell them what I want and have them in time for Christmas. I can’t wait to see the look on every one’s faces when they see their Christmas cards this year. I am so excited!
And I’ll be sure to stop by this site again for all my card giving needs. With their prices and selection, giving these types of personalized cards are good for any occasion.

On Saturday my father in law is getting married. Although the family is not happy about this event, it’s going to happen so we had better be prepared. Out of all his children, my husband is the only one attending. The girls are sending a gift, but they won’t be able to share this day with him. For the past couple of weeks my husband and I have been tossing around what type of wedding present we should buy them. I thought maybe we could give them gift certificates, but he doesn’t think that this is personal enough. As far as stuff, buy combining two homes they pretty much have everything they could possibly ever need.
So guys. Here’s my question to you. What would you buy a couple of their wedding that are in their 70’s and have everything already?

This morning when I woke up the temperature outside was -2 degrees. Man that’s cold! There was frost all over our car windows. Thankfully my husband leaves for work a little earlier than I need to go out to take the kids to school. So when he left he grabbed my car keys and started up my car. So by the time the kids and I got into the car the car was nice and toasty. Thankfully I have him or I think I would really need to look into some carports. I knew winter was on it’s way but having to experience below zero temperatures this morning really hit this thought home. So I guess now I will have to find all the winter coats and boots and get ready for another long and very cold winter season.

Just recently my daughter met a new friend. This little girl is the same age as my daughter but she is really quite big for her age. If you were just meeting her for the first time you would think that she would be a couple of years older than my daughter. Last week at the bus stop a couple of the other girls that Kara goes to school with were making fun of this girl because of her size. They were saying things like Phentermine, diet pills and that she really needs to join a gym. Well my daughter got really mad and royally told these girls off. Although these girls were friends of Kara’s for quite some time now, now she wants nothing to do with them because they were bullying this other girl. I was quite proud of Kara and am very happy that she stands up for things that she thinks is right.
Although I do get annoyed with her from time to time, I am very happy to say that I think I’m doing something right with this kid.

My father in law stopped in here today to inform us that he finally sold his house. This is great news as he already bought a mini home and if he had not sold his home soon he would have ended up paying two mortgages. As a man on a fixed income the thoughts of having to do this was not very pleasant. Although he did not get the money that he had hoped to for his house he is just very thankful that it did sell. Now after the closing date arrives he can really start to move on his life. We are extremely happy for him and hopefully the remainder of his selling of his home goes smoothly.

This morning I decided to head down to our local grocery store to pick up a few items to do us over the weekend. I was completely out of my best acne treatment and needed a few more household items as well. Well let me tell you all about my near death experience.
I was walking out of the store pushing my cart full of groceries. Now if any of you are grocery shoppers then you know that when you have a full load of groceries it’s pretty hard to move that cart around. Your lucky if your able to keep going straight. Well I was walking behind a car and he started backing up! Yup, backing up. I know he didn’t see me. So here I was in panic mode trying to move my cart out of his way as fast as I could. Of course the wheels got stuck and I was just standing there looking like a deer caught in headlights. Finally after just about hitting me the driver finally stopped backing up. I think he probably decided to look in his rear view mirror at this time.
So now you all know about my near death experience this morning and just one of the reasons why I HATE to go grocery shopping.
