Daddy! I’m scared!
This was what I heard come out of my eight year old yesterday morning at 4:30 in the morning. Apparently the power went out and my son woke up extremely frightened. He does not like the dark and to wake up to it being completely pitch black put quite a fright in him. But…his father was close by. When his father heard these words come out of his mouth, he told our son to follow his voice and he would keep him safe. It’s quite funny actually. Normally my son is glued to MY side and kind of just lives with his father. But, in times of trouble it’s his father he wants.
But no worries, my husband found the flashlight and they sat together until the lights came back on. I wonder if he will ever get over his fear, or if I will be hearing this phrase in years to come.
