Lifes Like That

Well he is at it again. Once again my husband is talking about putting an extension on our home and he just arrived home with some materials for this extension. I really think this time he is going to do more than just talking about it. Although it’s still winter here so construction can’t begin just yet, he has decided to start making some small purchases now so that when it is time to do the construction it won’t cost us so much at the time. So today he came home with some Quoizel lighting fixtures, and a couple of new windows.

I know this doesn’t sound like much, but the more we spend now, the less we have to spend in the spring. With these couple of purchases I know that he is finally serious about this extension and hopefully by the end of spring I will have more room to move about in my home. I’m finally starting to get excited about all this.

Wow! What a year! I can’t believe that 2008 is almost over with 2009 right around the corner. Here at our house we are planning on having a pretty quite new year’s eve. My husband is on call so we are pretty limited to what we can do. But I’m sure things will be just great. We will be having a special supper with the kids and then just sit back and relax.

Between yesterday and today I have gotten a lot accomplished. I took down the tree, put everything away and got my living room back in order. Wow! What a lot of work for just one day. After doing all this work for the past couple of days, I am now quite happy that Christmas only comes once a year. Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve and now that I have everything finished I will be able to sit back and relax with the family. After the new year the kid’s go back to school and life as we normally know it will continue on.

If I forgot to say this, I’ll say it again! Thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year!

Yesterday was probably the WORST shift that I’ve ever worked at my job. The place was packed, the other waitress was useless, the customers were cranky and the barcode scanners broke! It was not a great day to be a waitress at my job yesterday. Normally I have nerves of steel and don’t mind when it’s busy, but… not that busy. We didn’t have enough staff on so I ended up calling people in. I was never so glad to see a shift end in all my life! Hopefully I’ll never go through something like that ever again. I really don’t know if I would be able to handle it again.

Well the presents are unwrapped, the kids are playing with their new toys and the bird is in the oven. What more could a person ask for? We had a wonderful Christmas morning at our house and here’s to hoping that all went well at yours as well. So to each and all I would like to take this time to wish you all a very wonderful Christmas day. Take some time for yourselves and your loved ones. After all that what this season is all about now isn’t it?

I think I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  In my previous post I mentioned about how sick I’ve been.  Well I got some really strong cough medicine now so hopefully things will be looking up soon.  I don’t think I’ve ever been this sick for so long.  I haven’t been getting a whole lot of sleep at night so I’m pretty exhausted during the day.  And with Christmas right around the corner, I’m really not getting a whole lot accomplished.  I have so much work ahead of me that needs done, but I honestly don’t have the energy to complete it.  But if this medicine works like it should, I should be able to start getting some much needed sleep during the night and hopefully won’t be quite so tired during the day.

Honestly folks I’m really thinking that I need to invest in some Orovo detox. I have been sick pretty much for the last month and it now starting to get on my nerves. First of all I contracted the flue and then for the past week I have had one wicked cough. I did go to the doctor over this cough but was told it’s just a cold and I just need to wait it out. Well after a month I’m really starting to get tired of waiting this out. I thought I was getting better, but for the past couple of days I’ve been feeling like crap again. Hopefully I’ll start feeling better soon. I better. After all the big guy comes in only seven days. Can’t be sick for Santa now can I??

Well my daughter’s school was finally able to hold their Christmas concert last night. First of all let me tell you all that it was a huge success! The theater was so packed that you could not fit another soul in there and there were people actually standing out in the entrance listening to it. They had no idea that this concert would be this popular as they didn’t sell tickets ahead of time so it was first come, first served. I don’t think they will do that again. Even though it was a good concert, it was a very long one. My daughter’s violin class didn’t play until 9:20 and it wasn’t even done by then. We left as soon as she was done as it was getting pretty late and she had school this morning.

But a good time was had by all. The kids did a wonderful job and everyone was so very proud of them.

I have been back as a waitress at my job for almost a month now and I can’t tell you how good it is to be back out front. I honestly didn’t realize how much I missed my regular customers and how much they missed me. I have had so many comments about how glad they are that I’m back. It really has perked up my spirits. I have even had customers comment on how good I look and they even seem to think that I’ve put on a little weight as well. Well since putting on weight and not using Leptovox has been one of my goals in life, I guess I’m doing something right.

When I worked there before I had lost a lot of weight due to not eating right and running around constantly. Well I’m going to try to not let that happen to me this time. I plan on still eating on a regular basis and hopefully keeping the weight on that I currently have. But…it’s so good to be back!
