Nice break

Nice break

Yesterday my boss asked me to work for her as she needed to go in town for a meeting. Normally I don’t work during the week but because the kids were in school and she promised she would be back in time for me to get them off the bus, I agreed to do it.

I can’t tell you what a treat it was to work during the week. During the week it’s not nearly as busy as the weekends so I got to slow the pace down a little bit. I still had customers that needed to be waited on, but because there wasn’t as many as I’m used to waiting on, it was a super easy shift. If the time ever comes again that she asks me to work for her, I will probably say yes as it was a nice break.

End of the month

Wow! I am having a real hard time believing that the end of January is almost behind us. Normally the month of January drags on so bad, but that doesn’t seemed to have happened this year. January flew right by and February is just right around the corner. If all the months fly by as this one, it won’t be no time before the kids are going to be out of school and summer will finally be here. Can you tell that it’s brutally cold around here? It’s pretty bad when in January I am sitting here thinking about summer time.

A possible transfer

Yesterday my husband was approached by his manager about possibly transferring to a different branch. Well my husband told him that he will have to think about it and that he would have to discuss it with me. The area in which they want him to transfer to is a brand new branch and this would mean a brand new opportunity for him (as well as a pay increase). So my husband and I discussed this possible move until the wee hours of the morning. The biggest obstacle in this move would be the fact that we would have to sell our current home and purchase another. Well with all the stuff that we’ve collected we would definitely have to rent some moving pods as we have no where to store our stuff while were in between houses.

Another huge drawback is the fact that the children would have to change school districts. And in changing school districts, my daughter would not be able to continue to play her violin. So I guess we have more thinking and talking to do before we make any commitment one way or the other. I’ll let you all know what we decide.

Online income

With the Internet so easily accessible these days, many people are looking for on-line opportunities to either supplement their current income or to replace their existing income. You would think that with the wide varieties of opportunities offered off the Internet, that this would be an easily accomplished goal. Well, after a year on the Internet, I can honestly say that this is not so.

If your looking for some typists or data entry position, then you could be out of luck. There are many companies that are offering this type of position for people, but unfortunately most of these companies are scams. If they require you to pay a fee upfront, then they are more than likely a scam.

There are other opportunities that you can get into that are not scams, but they require a lot of patience and a lot of work sometimes for not much income. If you have the time and the patience to invest in these programs, then eventually they will pay out.

There are always two rules I live by when searching for income on the net. They are that if they require you to pay a fee upfront, then they are probably a scam, and always keep in mind, that if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

Good luck on your Internet income search and if anyone here is involved with any sites that are legit I’m sure we’d all love to hear from you!

Downsizing to one vehicle

Well now that my car finally passed inspection, my husband and I have decided to sell it. We really only need the one vehicle as he does have access to his work truck each and every day. We figured we could probably save quite a bit of money on car upkeep as well as insurance payments. Currently we each have our own insurance policies with different companies, but if we combine coverage we could probably save quite a bit of money. I’m not sure how much this little venture will save us so I’m going to have to check around for some car insurance quotes to see which companies would be the best for us to go with on a combined plan. This is what I plan on doing today. We have decided that if the insurance isn’t much cheaper then we will probably end up keeping my car. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Seriously bad headache

I don’t get migraines very often, but when I do…man do they hurt. All morning long I suffered with such a migraine that I didn’t even spend a lot of time on the computer. I just checked my e-mails and then went off the computer for a little while. I try not to take too many pills, but this morning I had no choice but to dip into my supplies.

Well my head hurt so bad that I really wasn’t thinking to clearly and almost too my husband’s diet pills by mistake. Luckily I caught myself and ended up taken the correct ones. Well I’m happy to report that these little pills finally worked and now I am able to function as a normal human being. Man, it was touch and go there for a little while.

Style or comfort?

When purchasing clothes, do you purchase for style or comfort? It drives my husband crazy, but I always dress for comfort. Which doesn’t always mean that I am stylish. To me, being comfortable is much more important than wearing the latest fashions.

It drives my husband so crazy that now he refuses to purchases any types of clothing for me. Which I’m very thankful for as he always purchases me clothing for style. I do not feel that I should suffer by being cold or feeling like I’m on display just so other people can see that my clothing are stylish.

I feel it should be up to each and every individual on how they dress and as long as they are comfortable in the clothes that they are wearing, then that should be all that matters. There are a lot of clothes out on the market that I feel comfortable in that are stylish, so most days I have the best of both worlds.

Quiet time coming to an end

Yeah I know….The kids just went back to school so you would think that my quiet time should just be beginning wouldn’t ya?? Well, nope! Starting tonight I will have the big kid home for nine days. My husband starts his vacation this weekend, and although I do love him dearly, I am so…not looking forward to having him home for nine days. Because he spends most of his time working, when he isn’t, he gets bored. And when he gets bored, he thinks he needs to torment me. So starting tonight I will not be online very much over the next week. He won’t let me get things done. He needs to be entertained. So…if you don’t see me around much, now you know why.

Some changes coming soon

If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you are well aware of the fact that one of my favorite hobbies is making crafts. In fact, I make so many that I have decided to create a small home crafting business to try to earn a little income off my creations. They don’t look like Oscar de la Renta products mind ya, but I try to do my best work and have been told that my work is quite nice. But for some reason I haven’t been able to sell a whole lot.

Yes, I have tried the Etsy store and I have even set up a blog which was designed just to try to sell my products. Since these efforts haven’t really paid off, I have decided that I need to go in a different direction. So in the very near future you will see a change in my “homemade crafts” link. Instead of having the address to my Etsy site listed or even the blog url listed, I have decided to take some fresh new pictures and upload them onto that link. I will eventually list the prices and the contact information as well. Hopefully this change will enable me to attract more buyers and maybe the year 2009 will be the year I get my home crafting business up and running.

Are their any Hostgator experts in the house??

I have a problem. For almost a week now I have been trying to start up a new blog. I have decided on a name and have even set up the blog through my Hostgator account. I have even paid the domain registration fee as well. Well, I have a problem. Although the blogs name is indeed listed in my cpanel this particular blog gets a 404 error when I click on the link. I was told I needed to change my name servers and I did this as well. But…I still can’t get this blog up and running.

Any ideas?? Anyone??
