Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve posted in here. Well I warned you all up front that this may happen.
Early last week I got my very first general transcription contract and yes, it took me six days to complete it. So, I have been spending ALL my free time working on that contract. But since I’m posting in here now, that means that I was finally able to complete it. Right now I don’t have any more contracts lined up (I do have one, but I’m still on the waiting list for them) so I should be posting in here more often.
So, if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to… Well, now you know.

Every year I dread this time of year. This is the time of year when we all have to file our taxes and then we sit wait patiently to see if we are going to owe the government some money or if we will be getting a refund. Well, I’m happy to report that this year both my husband and I will be getting a refund. Although I’m only getting a small amount back, my husband is getting quite a bit back, so we will be able to pay off some bills and he is planning on buying each of the kids a new bike.
They both have picked out the bike they want and quite surprisingly, they were pretty cheap bikes they picked out. Although these bikes do have the necessary accessories such as an led light on both of them, they are still pretty inexpensive which means that we can put most of the money on the bills. Now all we have to do is sit patiently waiting for the mailman to bring us the checks.

I got a pretty interesting piece of mail last week. It was from a credit card company that offers cheap credit card processing which in turn helps consumers to end up with lower debt. Although I haven’t checked out this company very much yet, but what I have read I am seriously thinking about transferring all my credit card debt to them. This way I will have lower interest payments and be able to pay off all my debt a little bit faster. With today’s economy as bad as it is, every little bit helps and quite possibly this could be the solution to my problems.

Well, it really is supposed to be spring, but I really have to wonder if it is. Tonight we are supposed to be for another major snowstorm. Well, the last time I looked it snows in winter, not spring! The only good thing about this storm, is the fact that this snow probably won’t stick around very long. But, by the sounds of things, the kids will probably be home tomorrow on a snow day. Man I really can’t wish until spring “weather” is finally here and we can all step away from the snow and all these snow days.

Well I had a pretty busy week this week. I started my spring cleaning and am really happy to report that I was able to get a lot of things accomplished. It’s quite amazing actually how much a person can get done when they have the entire house to themselves for an entire week. I was able to get my entire bedroom cleaned and rearranged. I through out a lot of old clothes and shoes. Now I really need to go out and purchase some more Beautifeel shoes. That’s the purpose of spring cleaning now isn’t it?? But since today is Friday, I will be done my cleaning for this week. I have to work tomorrow and Sunday so there won’t be any cleaning going on then. But the first of the week I will be back at it. Hopefully the other rooms in the house don’t take me quite so long to clean.

I really have to wonder what it taking place in the brains of our politicians. Yesterday they announced their new budget and I have to tell you all that it doesn’t look real pretty. Not for the common man anyway. They have announced a massive amount of layoffs in the civil service industry and they have also announced a lot of closers that will take place in the not so distant future.
I realize that we are now in the middle of a pretty major recession, but people do need money and do need these jobs to live. If the government keeps slashing jobs and programs, those who own a franchise might not be safe either. If people are losing their jobs, then they won’t be spending the money in these other areas and this could turn out bad for everyone involved. But, the government is going to do what they think is correct and let chips fall where they may.

Well this past week I have learned a very valuable lesson. If you want something done QUICKLY, you really should do it yourself.
For over a year now I have been pestering my husband to clean out the spare room so I could move in it to use it as my home office. Well, since it’s been a year since I first mentioned it to him, I decided to take matters into my own hand and just do it myself. So earlier in the week I cleared out everything that I could carry and then got the furniture ready to go in the room. So when he got home from work last night, all he had to do was move a desk in the room I did everything myself.
Well, it certainly isn’t set up the way I want it to be. But, I’m getting there. I now have my computer, a table and a chair in the room. When I get it the way I want it to be, I’ll pop back in here and post a picture of my BRAND NEW home office. Did I mention that I had to do it myself??

Although E-Bay has been around for a very long time, I have never gone into the site or purchased anything from the site until last week. Last week I was looking to purchase a used transcription foot pedal and someone told me to go check out E-Bay. Well I didn’t find what I was looking for and ended up purchasing one brand new. But while I was on the site, I was quite amazed to see all the items that you can purchase on this site. You know, you can even bid on a preowned Rolex if you want to. I’m sure a lot of people have had a lot of success with this site, but it really didn’t do a whole lot for me. So, I really don’t think I’ll be making any purchases from this site in the near future.

For the past couple of years now my husband and I have been looking for a small truck or SUV. We really didn’t need one, but wanted to purchase on to be able to haul our pop up camping trailer. Well, now the want has turned into a need. I really need to get rid of my car as it is making a lot of unsettling noises. I think I probably damaged the ball lock pins as well as did a lot more damage to my front end when I hit the snowbank during this past winter. Although my inspection isn’t due until next January, I’m pretty sure that this vehicle won’t pass due to the front end damage. So, I really do need to get rid of it and buy something else before the car falls apart or the inspection becomes due again.

With Friday being the first official day of spring, I have decided that I really need to get a move on my Spring cleaning. You really wouldn’t believe what kind of a mess my house has become these days. During the winter I really don’t have the motivation to do any extra cleaning, but when the sun is shining and it gets warmer out, then I start to get in the mood to get things done. The first two rooms I plan on tackling is going to be our bedroom and then my home office. I have a lot of things in my room that need to go into my office, but until I get that room cleaned out, I really have no place to put things. So this week I’m going to try to get a start on things. By having a four bedroom home, I realize that this little venture of mine is going to take some time. But since I don’t work during the week, I have plenty of time to get it done.
