Camping season

Wow! I can’t believe that there is only two more months left before the camping season officially opens. Now most years we don’t head out quite so early, but with a brand new pop up camper trailer, we would like to get as much camping in as possible so we have already made plans to go on the first weekend that the campsites are open. We have everything we need to go camping quite comfortably and the only thing we need to get now is some Cheap Blinds for the camper. Other than that, we are all set to go. Now if I can only learn how to wait patiently, I will be all set.

Thank god it’s Monday!

Normally I cringe when Monday arrives. This marks the day when the weekend is over and I have lots of work to catch up on. I work every Saturday and Sunday so not a lot of housework or computer work gets done over the weekend. This means that when Monday does finally roll around, that I have all this extra work to catch up with.

But this Monday I really don’t mind. The kids were home last week on March break and because they chose to fight all week, I was really looking forward to this Monday. So even though I have a pile of work to catch up with, I really don’t mind. I’m just so happy the kids are back in school and I have the time to do all the catch up!

What a great find!

My husband will be so pleased with me (I hope!). Earlier this morning I did a post about a site I had found over at invitinghome.com. Well while I was there checking out their different types of moldings, I came across a few links for other items that they carry as well. And, even though we are working on the living room right now, in the future we will be doing the rest of the home so I thought I would check out some of the other different items that I may like to purchase from this site as well.

Well, I was extremely pleased to see that they sell decorative hardware as well. I found some great decorative knobs that I plan on buying for the cabinets in the kitchen. I was so excited to find this type of deal, that I have bookmarked the site and as soon as my husband gets home from work tonight I’m going to show him what I found. Not only do this items look very classy and clean, but the prices are so reasonable that I may end up buying all the hardware there that I’m going to need for the bathroom as well.

While I was at the site, I also discovered that they sell shutters, chandeliers, and wall decor. Who knows, maybe by the time I’m done I’ll have all my finishing touches items purchased from just this site.

Oh…I can’t wait until my husband gets home so I can show him what I found!

Writing job!

Well I think some of my patience has finally paid off. As you all know, I have been actively searching for ways to earn a little extra income off the Internet. I have discussed (in a previous post) that I have been looking about getting into transcription. And yes, I am still looking at this option, but I have found something else as well.

Yesterday I e-mailed a guy who was looking for an article writer. Well, since I’ve had experience in this field, I decided that if the money was right then maybe I could do this while I’m getting myself set up in the transcription field. Well, I’m happy to report that I got the job and have already gotten my first assignment. As in anything on the Internet, I’ll have to see how it goes. But right now it looks pretty promising.

I’ll be sure to let you all know how I make out with this little venture.

Cutting back costs

Since we are in the middle of a recession here in Canada, I have been trying to find different ways of cutting costs. The first thing I did was trim down my grocery bill. Instead of purchasing a lot of junk and pre-made items, I have been buying a lot of things in bulk. Another area which I have been looking closely at is my current auto insurance. Because of the limited amount that I drive, I really don’t need to carry as much insurance as I have been, so I have cut back on that as well. I’m still looking for other areas, where I can trim the budget, and I am quite confident that over the next couple of months, I will be able to save our family some money.

Every penny helps

So you have probably noticed that I don’t post in here as much as I used to. Well, there is a reason for this. It’s because I’ve been doing other things lately. I have decided that I want to take my Internet life in a different direction. I have decided that I’m going to try my hand at general transcription. To do this job properly, I have to have two pieces of equipment. One is headphones (which I now have) and the other piece of equipment would be a foot pedal. Well these things cost money so I have been doing a little work over at mechanical turk to try to earn the money for this foot pedal. Although the typing that I have been doing doesn’t add up to much, I figure every cent helps to go toward my purchase of this piece of equipment.

So, if you don’t see me around much over the next couple of months, now you know why. I am working on something else to be able to work at my dream job.
