I am so tired these days! I’ve been putting in some pretty late nights and getting up pretty early in the mornings. Plus, my mattress is probably one of the most uncomfortable mattresses on this planet. It always has been, even from the first day that we got it. I really wished I had have gotten the sleep number bed that I wanted instead of purchasing a traditional mattress. Oh well, too late now. But you can bet that the next time we make a purchase of any type of bed, I will be getting a sleep number bed. This way maybe I can get a better night’s sleep and not be so tired all the time.

Next year my daughter will be headed off to middle school. This is her final year in elementary school. And with the school year almost ending, the kids are getting ready for their elementary school graduation. I really can’t wait to see all the little girls in their fancy dresses and the little boys with their tuxedo shirts and pants. I think this particular day is going to be so special for them. They all have put in a lot of hard work over the years and I’m really pleased that the school is going to recognize all their efforts. My daughter is pretty excited about this day as well.

Well it’s Friday once again. So you all know what that means now don’t you? That means that the weekend is right around the corner. Well this weekend we have plans to go on our very first camping trip of the season. We will be leaving fairly early tomorrow morning and staying overnight. We will come back sometime in the afternoon on Sunday. The kids are getting pretty excited about all this and have had their bags packed for over a week now. The weather is supposed to be nice all weekend so I think we will all have a pretty good time.
So, have a great weekend and I’ll see you all again the first of next week.

Last week in the mail I received my insurance renewal forms. Every June my insurance runs out and it’s once again time to decide if I’m going to stay with my current company. Well, I was really pleased to see that my insurance rates went down again this year. But something that did surprise me was the fact that they now include a term life insurance rate on the policy as well. Well I already have life insurance so I just kind of ignored this particular rate. So because my rates did go down this year, I have decided to stay with my current company for at least one year more.

For the past couple of weeks, my online work has dwindled quite a bit. But it looks like things are starting to pick up again. On Wednesday I received and e-mail from a company that I sometimes write articles for asking me if I would be interested in doing a pretty big job for them. Of course I said yes, and got started on these articles as soon as I could. Then yesterday, one of my transcription clients contacted me with some work they wanted me to do for them. As this is the type of work I really want to do, I said yes to them as well. So for a couple of weeks, I really didn’t have very much work to do and now in two days, I have more than I could have imagined. So, like I said, it’s either feast or famine.

Last night around 11:00 pm I received a phone call from one of my sister in law’s. My father in law was admitted to the hospital yesterday for chest pains and his new wife didn’t even have the decency to call any one of his children. She only found out by chance that he was in the hospital and to say that my husband wasn’t impressed with the lack of communication from the new wife, is a serious understatement. Although it’s not supposed to be anything serious, she still should have called us. This worries me quite a bit. Because I am now wondering if anything serious does place, how quick will she be too call us?? Hopefully he will be OK. And as always, I will keep you all updated on his health.

I really have to say that I can almost understand how people get themselves in so much trouble with different addictions these days. Becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol seems to have become a way of life these days. There are more and more drug rehab centers popping up. And they certainly wouldn’t be popping up so quickly if the need wasn’t there. I really do think that there should be more effort put forth on educating the young people of this world on drugs and the possible pitfalls of experimenting with these drugs and I also think the government and President Obama really needs to deal with this issue head on. If this trend is not addressed quickly, I can really see this problem getting worse and worse. Something really does need to be done.

I have discovered some things in life. Especially in the outside work while working at a busy family restaurant as a waitress. When you do a bad job on something, your employer is quick to jump all over you. But when you do something good, most times you don’t ever hear about it. This was why I was quite shocked yesterday. Yesterday the owner of my company personally thanked me and another co-worker for all the extra work we have been doing over the past few weeks. Our manger’s husband passed away last week and we have been picking up the slack while she has been away. Neither one of us would have done anything else, but it was still extremely nice to get that recognition.

Even though the kids still have about six weeks of school left, my husband and I have started thinking about what we may purchase them for a grading present. Since the computer that they play on has just about had it, we have decided that we will probably purchase them a lap top between them. We have six weeks to save up for it, so we should be able to afford a pretty nice one. We’ve been looking at ones that have a lot of memory and also have a pretty good micro sd card. These extras will cost a little bit more, but I really do think it will be worth it. The kids spend quite a bit of time online so they really do need a pretty good laptop. But, they still won’t get it until we see their final report cards.
