My oldest son is planning on making a trip home this summer after being away for two years. The kids are quite excited about this event and have been talking non stop about his home coming since they found out. One of the thing he has asked for when he comes home is to have a huge family BBQ. Apparently he hasn’t had a BBQ since he left home. So I’m going to stock up on hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and ribs. Who knows, maybe I’ll throw in some fat burners as well. He will be home in a months time. So this will give me plenty of time to organize the biggest and best BBQ that I can. I know the kids are looking forward to this as am I.

Although my husband and I were on vacation this week, let me tell you that it was a pretty crappy week. The weather was just horrible! I rained steadily since last Saturday and the only really nice sunny day we had was yesterday. Now today it’s back to rain and clouds again with the long range forecast showing rainy weather up until Monday. I guess the only good thing about this vacation was the fact that neither one of us had to go to work. Hopefully the next week we both take off will be better.

My niece who lives quite far away from me just gave birth to her first child. And yes, it’s a girl. Mom and baby are doing just fine and so is the grandpa (my brother). I really do hope there will come a time soon when I get to see her again and see the baby. But until then there is facebook.

My son came home from school yesterday with two Birthday Party Invitations. Both of the Party Birthday Invitations were almost identical in nature, so me being the curious person that I am, I asked one of the mother’s where she got her party invitations. Well I was seriously pleased to find three books from Fern Michaels that I had never read before. So at three dollars a book, of course I grabbed them. So now I have some great books to sink my teeth into and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg to buy them.

This time of year is one of the hardest times of year for me. Five years ago I lost my dad to cancer, so when father’s day rolls around I tend to get a little depressed. I am so happy that last week is finally over. If your a regular reader of this blog then you are already fully aware of the amount of time my two kids spend fighting. Well last week was one of their worst weeks ever. I really don’t know what is going to happen this summer if they continue to fight as they have been. I have talked to several parents who have kids around my kid’s ages, and they all claim that this is quite normal for two kids that are so close in age. Normal or not, I don’t know what is going to happen if this constant fighting continues. Hopefully last week was just a bad week and we won’t see quite so much fighting in the future. All I can tell you, is that this is probably going to be a very long summer.
