I really should pay more attention

I really should pay more attention

I think I really do have to stop tuning the children out so much. My youngest son is really bad for talking. He talks constantly. I’m not kidding, this kid even talks in his sleep. At times I have actually tuned him out because of all his talking. But a couple of times I’ve almost gotten myself in trouble doing this.

Last night he was talking about a site he found on the Internet that discussed colon cleansing and because I was tuning him out, I almost missed some of the other sites he was talking about. But I caught myself and went to see what he was up to. A couple of the sites that he had visited, he shouldn’t have (he’s only 9), but because I didn’t say anything to him, he figured that he was allowed on the sites. This is why I really should pay more attention to this kid when he talks. After last night, you can just bet that I’m going to start listening a little more closely.

Where does the time go??

I really have to wonder where all the time comes. In three months it will once again be Christmas. Man it seems like it was just yesterday that I was purchasing office supplies and school supplies for the kids for school and now I’ve got to start thinking about buying presents. And the thing is, is that if I’m not careful these next three months will fly by as well and it will be Christmas before I know it. Well with only three months left to go, I’ve really got to start purchasing Christmas gifts so that for once I will not be racing against the clock to try to get things done.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I have to work all weekend so I won’t be doing much of anything else. So I probably won’t be back in until the first of next week. So until then have a great weekend, stay safe and have fun.

Animal lover

Although my daughter is only 11 she has already decided what she wants to be when she grows up. She has decided to become a Veterinarian. She is massively obsessed with animals and just figures that this is her calling in life. Last night she was reading an animal magazine and telling me all the interesting facts she found about horses. She was even amazed that animals sometimes need weightloss supplements to help control their weights. She is discovering that there is a lot more to taking care of animals than she had originally thought, but she is still holding strong to her decision. Hopefully after she graduates from high school she will have her plan and set it in motion to have the career that she has always longed to have.

Interesting conversation

I have to say that having a child in middle school now has lead to very interesting conversations. It seems that these days she has more questions than answers. Just last night, out of the blue I might add, she started asking me all kinds of questions about my opinion on what the best diet pills are. She is only 11 and really does not need to worry about diet pills and weight loss, but I did try to answer her questions honestly. If these are the types of questions that she is going to start asking, I’m really dreading what may take place later on in the school year. But I will deal with each question as it comes.

More blogging getting done

Now with both kids back to school, I have had a lot more time to myself these days. I have been able to get so much done around the house and have also been able to start spending a lot more time on the Internet as well. So I’m thinking if this trend continues, I will be able to get back into blogging a little more heavily over the next few months. This really does please me as I have really missed my blogging activities over the summer.

So… if you see me around more often in the future, now you know why. It actually does amaze me at how much more I can get accomplished when I don’t have two little people underfoot and fighting all day every day.

New vehicle

Well it’s time once again for me to look for a new vehicle. Here in Canada we have to have our car inspected once a year and it’s almost time for my inspection to come due. The only problem with this, is that this year for sure my car won’t pass. And because it’s an older car, I refuse to poke any more money in it than I have to. So I have decided to go out and purchase a brand new vehicle. Well not brand new, but new to me.

I have been looking around and have also been checking for auto accessories as well. I only have a couple of months to go before it’s time for my inspection, so I really do need to find something else quite quickly. When I do find my dream car, I’ll be sure to pop back in and let you all know what I’ve purchased.

School activities

Well my daughter is at it again. She has only been in school for one week, but has already signed up for three extra curricular activities. She has signed up for another year of playing the violin, she now belongs to the book club and she has also signed up for the drama club. She already had one meeting with the drama club and has already found out what their first play will be. She plans on auditioning for one of the lead roles. If she gets this role, I will have to find her a pair of breeches as she will be playing a girl that pretends to be a boy. I know if she gets the part, she will do a really great job.

The only thing about all these clubs that I’m concerned about is I don’t want her to get in over her head like she did last year. But, only time will tell if she can handle all these extra curricular activities. I guess we will have to wait and see what takes place.

Weekend plans

Well now that it’s Friday, the weekend is just about here. What are your plans for the weekend??

Our plans don’t consist of very much. My husband has to work tomorrow and I have to work on Sunday. So that pretty much limits us to what we can do. But the kids are planning on winding down after their first week of school. So I think it will be a pretty laid back kind of weekend here at our house.

Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll see you all again real soon.

Schools in session

Today both the children went back to school. My youngest son went into grade 4 and my daughter went into grade 6. Because my daughter started grade 6 today she went to a brand new school. And, if the clothes some of the older children were wearing is any indication what children wear in middle school, I’m going to have to keep a very close eye on my daughter’s choice of clothing. I was appalled at the “lack” of clothes some of the grade 7 children were wearing. I wouldn’t be all that surprised if they were taking weight loss pills as well. I didn’t realize that kids this young would start dressing like adults. But, what I can tell you is that even when my daughter is 16, she will NEVER walk out of the house on some of the get ups that these other kids were wearing. What in heck were their parents thinking?!
