Man, I’ll be glad when we finally put this home up for sale. I swear to god we are putting more money in this place than what we will ever get out of it. But I want it to look nice so that when the time comes to sell, people will be begging us for it. LOL One area that we have been concentrating on is the kitchen. I would love to put copper kitchen sinks in, but I really don’t think that’s in our budget. I think we will just end up refinishing the ones that are already in here and hope for the best. But I’ve got to tell you all, that if we don’t sell this place soon, we are going to end up living here for the rest of our lives as we will lose way to much money when we sell.

One of our favorite things to do as a family is to go camping. But this past summer we were unable to get out camping as much as we would have liked. Between the illnesses that ran through our family, all the overtime my husband had to work and the rainy crappy weather, we kind of didn’t get out very much. Thankfully all we have is a pop up camper trailer that we can haul on our own and not something that we would have to pay someone for motorhome towing or we would have spent a lot of money on an activity we couldn’t enjoy. Well the season is over now and our trailer is now packed away for the season. Hopefully next season things will be better and we will get as much camping done as we want.

Well as you can all tell, I’m back!! For the past few months I just couldn’t seem to get my blogging together. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been doing this for three years now and just got bored or if it’s because I have so many blogs, I just started to get overwhelmed. Well, whatever the problem was, it seems to have gone away. I have my passion back for blogging. Yay! Now all I have to do is come up with the fun and interesting topics that I think you folks may like to read about. But I think the dry spell is definitely over.

Since I’ve finally managed to get a Saturday off, I have decided that tomorrow will be the day that I will start my Christmas shopping. There are three stores that currently have a huge sale on so I will be hitting these first. Then if I have any money left (ha, ha) I may even decide to buy some groceries. Thankfully I don’t have to purchase any cattle supplies or anything like that, or I would definitely be broke by the end of the day. Hopefully I get a good chunk of my shopping done tomorrow. That way I won’t be rushing around trying to purchase the last of my items on December 24th like I normally am.

Last week my husband’s company informed him that they owe him a week and a half this year for holidays. I’m not real sure how this is possible as he already took four weeks vacation this year, but we aren’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth and will just be happy with this extra time off. It’s not like we can do anything or go anywhere or have any need to purchase any travel insurance but I’m sure we can finding something fun and interesting to do with all this extra time. The kids aren’t real impressed as they still have to go to school. But hey, that’s what being an adult is like right?? You get time off and the children don’t.

Although it’s only mid October, the weatherman is calling for some serious snow fall. I am so…. not ready for this. Yes, I know I live in an area that tends to get a lot of snow, but…. I’m just not ready for it yet. Both the kids are ready for the white stuff and are getting excited about the possible snow fall but I’m not. I guess maybe it’s because I have to drive in it and they get to play in it. Maybe that’s the difference. Oh well, there really isn’t anything I can do about it. I’ll just have to brace myself and accept the fact that once again winter is coming early.

As the children get older, I have found some distinct changes in their behavior. My son who turned 9 in August seems to be getting better with his behavior. He’s not quite as whiny as he was and seems to take the word “no” seriously. My daughter on the other hand is getting worse. She’s always been quite saucy with me, but now she seems to be turning on her father as well. We’ve had some pretty good fighting matches lately and to be quite honest with you, I’m not sure if she didn’t win most of those. If this is the way my children are going to behave in the future then I’m really starting to get a little nervous.
How do you all deal with an 11 year old child who thinks she’s 18?? I’d really love to hear about your experiences.

Although my daughter is only 11 she has been given the opportunity to take a babysitting course. She wants to take it and my husband and I want her to take it, so we signed her up. She starts the first of a four day course today. Even after she gets this certificate, she won’t be old enough to watch her brother. But at least when the time comes for her to start babysitting, she will have this course behind her.
I realize that it’s only her brother she will be watching for a while. But I really do think this course is important so that is why I have been very supportive in her eagerness to participate. I don’t know how happy her brother will be when she starts watching him. But we will worry about that when the time comes.
