Yesterday I got a good stab on cleaning out my home office/craft room. Lately it has been used as a free for all dump site and I’m getting tired of not being able to use the room for what it was intended for. So today I plan on finishing cleaning it out, and tomorrow I will get it all set up once again. For the past three months I haven’t been able to do any type of crafts as I’ve had no where to do them. And, I have been doing all my computer work at the kitchen table. But this soon will change. Hopefully over the next couple of days I will get my room back and be able to start working in there once again. Once this happens, you can bet that I will never let anyone in that room again.

My daughter is starting to become a little teenager and let me tell you all, this is not pretty. She has the attitude of a sixteen year old, and she is only eleven. Just last night she was complaining about her acne (what acne??) and was asking me what I thought is the best acne treatments for her. She has no acne, but just to keep the peace I told her I would check into it. Man, this girl is going to drive me nuts. I really hope this is not a glimpse of what the future holds for me. If it is, I’m really going to have to stock up on a lot of acne products (for her phantom acne). I’ll keep you posted on how or if I survive the growing up of my daughter. Thankfully my other child is a boy. Life should be easier.

With my hobbies and crafts, I kind of go in spurts. I will do one type of craft for a while, then get bored and then move on to something else. Well, I got bored again, so I started looking for a different type of craft to do for a while. Well, I did find a different one. Over the weekend I started looking at what it would take to start making homemade first communion invitations, and other types of invitations. It actually didn’t look really hard. But, it will cost a little bit of money to get started. But I have decided that I’m going to try my hand at it. So over the next few weeks, I’m going to start to stock up on supplies (don’t tell my husband please) and then see what type of invitations I can come up with. Wish me luck!

The job that I currently have only pays the minimum wage of $8.25 an hour. Now this is actually fine for me as this is not our main source of income for our household, plus I make tips, but…. it is quite low for most single working people. Well, our government just announced that within the next year and a half, minimum wage will increase to $10.00 an hour. This does please me as it will help out all the single parents out there who are just struggling to make ends meet. There is a lot of controversy about this so I guess we will just have to wait and see if it goes through. I really hope it does.

Last night I was doing a little browsing on the Internet and I couldn’t believe some of the great sales that places like circuit city, best buy and future shop are having now. I really wish some of these items had been on sale before Christmas. I probably would have bought a lot of different presents had they been. Oh well, my money is now spent, so I won’t be taking advantage of any of these sales. But if you have a little extra cash laying around, now is certainly the time you could put it to good use.
