Going to do some sorting

Going to do some sorting

Today outside the weather is pretty crappy.  Last night it snowed and today it’s very cold and windy so I have decided that today will be a day that I will spend sorting out all my craft supplies.  The other night when I went out shopping I bought a few small containers for my crafting supplies and today I am going to sort them and put them into different containers.  This way when I decide to do a project, I won’t have to go searching through all the boxes for all the items that I will need.  So, although the weather outside today isn’t very nice, I think that I will still get quite a bit accomplished.

And the winner is….

Not me. But, that’s OK. As you all know, about a month ago I entered a scrapbooking contest. I bugged most of you for a couple of weeks to go into the site and cast your votes and I have to say you all did an awesome job!! I really, really appreciate all the time you all took to try to help me win the contest. But, unfortunately I didn’t win first place. But, I did win second place and that prize is pretty cool to. I won a year’s subscription to a scrapbooking magazine. So, I still won something pretty cool and something that I can use in my scrapbooking hobby.

So, first of all I would like to THANK each and every one of you for all your votes and if it hadn’t of been for you all, I wouldn’t have even come close to second.

So, THANKS!!

A lot of sewing done

Since both of the kids were sick this past weekend, we didn’t go anywhere or do anything special.  We just stayed inside all weekend to try to get them better.  So, I spent a lot of time sewing over the weekend.  The doggie quilt that I started for a friend of mine that I used to work with is really coming along quite nicely.  If I keep up this pace with it, I should be ready to put the stuffing and back on it within the next couple of weeks.  It is a very easy quilt to make and a very easy pattern, so this is why it isn’t taking me quite so long to get the work done on it.  My friend is going to be really surprised when I call her to tell her it’s completed.  When I am finally done with it, I will post a picture of the finished product.  So, look for a picture to be posted here within the next couple of weeks.

So, this is a plea to all of you to pop on over to Christine’s blog and VOTE FOR KIM. Every vote counts so if you only vote once I would be so….grateful. But, if you’d like to help me out even more, you can go in every day and place your vote until October 31.

I would like to thank you all in advance for your votes and with your help, I may just win this awesome contest!

Finishing touches

Now that I have been trying to set up my small home crafting business, I have discovered that there is a lot of small things that have to do with business that I wouldn’t normally be aware of. One of these smaller details that I almost overlooked with adding some type of shopping cart software to my website. By adding this type of software, I will be able to encourage my customers to make purchases directly off my site with the use of their credit cards.

I have found that most websites that have some type of ecommerce software on their site generally do a better business than a website that doesn’t have it. By adding a shopping cart to my site, I will be able to spend up the purchasing process for any customer who wishes to make any type of purchase from my site. So, I will be stopping by ashopcommerce.com to get this software to be able to help me produce greater sales as a faster pace.

Craft night

Last night the kids and I had a serious blast creating some Halloween crafts.  Each of them had a $2.00 craft kit and you would have thought by all the fun they had that they each had a million dollars.  Both of them pretty much made the entire thing themselves, but I had to help them a little bit with the glue gun.  Now this morning both of their crafts are completed and dried so they took them to school to give them to their teacher’s.  They are just like me!  Every time I make a craft of any kind I usually give it away and now it seems like the kids do too.  They love making crafts, but they really don’t care if they keep them.  It was so much fun that this weekend I think I’ll buy them each another kit and try it again!

I’m getting an unsecured business loan

As you all know, I have been slowly building up my small home crafting business. Well I have to say that business is really starting to pick up. So now that things are starting to get busier in that department for me, I have been seriously thinking about expanding. But, to be able to do this, I really need to check into seeing what it would involve for me to be able to get an Unsecured Business Loan. I have found a great site over at ezunsecured.com where I have found a ton of information concerning this exact area.

I have found this site to be extremely informative on all kinds of information in the financial field. By what I have seen so far, this company seems to be the best at what they do. They offer great service and their application process seems to be extremely easy and very quick. So although I am still in the thinking and planning stage, you can bet that when the time comes for me to apply for an unsecured business loan, this site will be my first stop to begin my process.

Halloween crafts

My kids love doing crafts and any holiday or special occasion is an excuse for them to make a craft.  So, they were quite happy last night when my husband came home with a couple of small Halloween craft kits for them to make.  It actually pleases me that they can be so impressed with a little kit that only cost $2.00.  So I have promised them that today after school, after the homework is done, I will sit down and help them create their crafts.  I have to help them as these crafts do involve using a hot glue stick and I can just imagine what would happen if I let them use this by themselves.  So, tonight it’s craft night at my house.  My daughter will be making a witch and my son will be making Frankenstein.  Scary…

I need your help!

A couple of weeks ago, I posted here on this blog about a very neat scrapbooking contest that I had entered. This contest is being hosted by Christine Murphy. All I needed to do was write a post about why I want to win this amazing contest and then I would be entered. I did that. Now the next step to me winning these amazing products is that I need lot of votes. This is where I am asking for all your help.

If you would please drop by Christine’s and vote for Kim I would be eternally grateful! You only need to vote once, but if you would like to help me out even more, you can go in every day until October 31 and place your votes.

I really, really appreciate all your help in this and hopefully on November 1 I will be able to post that I won this contest with all your help.

And….the sewing continues

As you can tell, I am starting to get a little bored with my sewing projects.  So, I have done something about it.  A few days ago I purchased a jewelry making kit online and now am just waiting for my package to arrive.  Until it does, I have decided that I really need to get back to my quilting.  I figured I could get more done on the quilt and that way when my jewelry making kit comes in I won’t feel so guilty about not working on the quilt for a little while.  I really don’t know why I get so restless, as I do really enjoy sewing.  But, sometimes it really feels like a chore to me instead of a hobby.  So to avoid losing interest all together, I usually set it aside and try something different.  But, until my kit comes in the mail, I will get as much work done on the quilt as I possibly can.
