Lifes Like That

One of the downfalls of camping

One of the downfalls of camping

Now don’t get me wrong, going camping is probably my most favorite thing to do in life. It gets us all away from the house and gives the kids different opportunities and activities to get involved in. But there is one downfall to camping and that is how stuffy the air can get in our trailer. It’s not too bad during the day because we have all the screens open, but when the trailer is buttoned up for the night it can get a bit stuffy. So this year we have planned to get around this. We are planning on purchasing a couple of air purifiers to combat this problem. Once this *little* problem is taken care of, I can’t see any other issues that we may encounter on our first trip out for the season. But, nothing ever goes as planned so it wouldn’t surprise me if something else does come up.

For all you horror movie fans

There are horror movies, then there are serious horror movies. The latest one to hit the theaters will be arriving May 9 and it looks to be one of the scariest movies to hit theaters in recent years. The movie I’m talking about, is called Frontier(s).

After watching the trailer for this upcoming flick, I can honestly say that I am actually quite surprised to see that it will be shown in movie theater’s. Most movies of this graphic nature are not shown in theater’s, especially if they are unrated. The general public isn’t normally subject to a movie of this nature and critics are now wondering and debating as to why it is being allowed.

The trailer itself is not very detailed for the reason of not wanting to give away the plot before the movie starts, but it does give the viewer enough information to want to go to check their select theater listings to see when and where this movie will be available to them. But, if you are unable to go to any one of the theaters on May 9 but would still love to see it, you have the opportunity on May 13 to purchase the DVD that will be out on the market.

This is a truly a one of a kind horror flick and if your a huge horror movie fan then your not going to want to miss it. But, due to the graphic nature of this movie, viewer discretion is advised.

Going fishing

We woke up to a beautiful day outside today so we have decided that it is a perfect day to take the kids fishing.  My husband has a fishing licence, but I don’t have.  I just go for the view and the outing.  My husband and both kids have their own fishing poles so when they get down to the water, they don’t have to worry about sharing poles.  I don’t know how much fish they will catch today as the water is still quit high.  But just the experience of going fishing alone is enough excitement for them.  I wish they would catch something so we could have some fresh fish for once, but I’m not holding my breath.  But you never know.  Either way, it will still be an enjoyable day for all.

Another birthday party

Some days I  wish my kids weren’t as popular as they are. lol  They have been invited to yet another birthday party.  The invitation was kind of for both of them, but the child who is having the birthday is really only a friend of my daughter’s.  My son was only going to attend if one of his buddies was going.  But since his buddie isn’t going, I am not going to take him to this party.  He can stay home with his dad.  He isn’t really upset that he  isn’t going as he has plans to go out on the four wheeler with his dad.  I really hope this is the last one for awhile as it is starting to get a little expensive.  I’m glad they are so well liked, but when it comes to spending money, sometimes I wish they weren’t quite so popular.

Dream vacation

With the school year slowly coming to an end and summer vacation time just around the corner, I have been thinking about different locations where I would love to take the kids for a nice family vacation. One area where I would love to go would be to the Outer Banks. I have seen pictures of this destination on TV and in magazines and I think it would be an ideal location for any family vacation. It looks so peaceful and serene. But I don’t think a vacation like this is in the cards for us this year. But I really do hope that in future years I will be able to look into this type of vacation a little more closely.

Going fishing

Since the first day of fishing season was on April 15, my husband went out yesterday and purchased his fishing licence.  Today we will be taking the kids fishing for the first time this season.  They don’t need a licence because their only seven and nine and I don’t need one because I don’t fish, I only go along for the fun.  They are quite excited about this little outing.  Neither one of them have ever caught a fish before, but they sure have fun trying and now that their a little older and have more patience, maybe this will be the year that they catch one.  If not, that’s OK too as they both enjoy the outing anyway.

I’m just like a little kid

I know this might sound extremely funny to you all. But I desperately want an ipod. Yeah, I know an almost 40 year old woman wanting what is normally a teenager’s gadget. The main reason why I want one is that I spend a lot of time on the computer and would love to be able to listen to all my favorite tunes while I work. My husband tells me that that is why I have a radio, but you know it’s not the same thing. I have tried to explain to him that I need one when I’m working outside on my laptop it would be really nice to have. He hasn’t bitten yet, but mother’s day and my birthday are coming up soon, so you never know.

Weekend plans

It’s going to be quite a busy weekend around here and I’m not sure if I’ll be online much.  Tomorrow will be a day for Kara and I to spend the day together and Daniel and his father will be spending the day together as well.

Kara and I will be walking around the neighborhood getting pledges for her upcoming fiddle-a-thon and then I am planning on taking her out for something to eat.  It’s been a long time since her and I did something that only involved the two of us and I think she will get a major kick out of this.  Daniel and his father will be going to see a car and bike show in town and I’m sure they will be going out for something to eat as well.  On Sunday the whole family will be attending the RV show in a nearby town and then we will be going to my husband’s father’s for supper.

So if you don’t see me around much this weekend, you now know why.

Funny sight

I would have to say that if anyone walked into my house this past weekend, they would have gotten a major kick out of watching the two younger children.  Both of them were playing games on the Internet on two different laptops.  My son was playing on my old laptop and my daughter was playing on my husband’s.  Because my husband bought me a brand new laptop, we had one unit left over for the kids to share.  But, kids will be kids and a little fighting did ensue over who gets to play it next.  So my husband gave up his so that they could both play on it  at the same time.  Well I have to say that the is trick did work and the fighting stopped.  He did have to explain to them that his laptop was just a loner and soon they would have to share their own.  But it sure did look funny!

And the tradition continues

Well it’s Sunday so that means shortly we will be headed to my father in laws for dinner.  Ever since the passing of my husband’s mother, we have been joining my father in law for dinner every Sunday.  Either he invites us down and cooks for us, or sometimes we will take him out for a meal.  The kids really enjoy this time that we spend with him and I’m pretty sure that the promise of dinner on his part is just so that he can spend some quality time with the kids.  He usually buys something that he knows they will enjoy and then shares it with them on Sunday.  Well this past week he bought more computer games for them so he is quite excited to show them his purchases.  Sometimes I wonder if my youngest son goes to his house to see him or his computer.
