Tonight is one of three Santa Clause parades and I can’t tell you how excited the two kids are to attend this event. My husband and I aren’t exactly thrilled about it. But hey, Christmas is for kids now isn’t it? This parade they will get to watch, but next weeks parade my son will be participating in. It really does feel like Christmas when Santa comes to town now doesn’t it??

Once again my 12 year old daughter is on my case about taking horseback riding lessons. So far every year I’ve been able to put her off on this as it is really expensive and we really didn’t have the money. But this year I’m thinking about letting her take a few lessons. I have picked up more shifts at work and my husband just recently got a raise so I think we might be able to afford it this time. If we do do this at least we won’t have to spend any money on horse tacks or anything like that. We’ll just have to pay for the lessons and she will be one happy camper.

Tomorrow is the first day of our fishing season here in New Brunswick and to tell you all that my youngest son is super excited, would be an extremely serious understatement. Going fishing with his father is one of his most favorite things to do. My daughter on on the other hand, not so much. Sure she loves going on the trips with her father and brother (I’m not a fisherman), but she would rather go for the trip and play outside. She is not impressed with the whole idea of catching innocent fish and then eating them. But…. my son loves to catch “the big one”. So now with the season almost upon us, I can honestly see him digging out the poles.

Saturday night was our annual Santa Clause parade and we took the kids to it. First of all I would like to tell you all that it was quite mild out so standing in the cold watching a parade was something that we didn’t have to do this year. And because the kids weren’t cold, they were happier to stand outside and watch the parade. Well it was a good parade this year with lots of floats, lights and music. It definitely put me in the Christmas mood. Both of the kids had their letters made up and gave them to the post men to give to Santa. So all in all it was a very good night, and fun was had by all.

My oldest son is planning on making a trip home this summer after being away for two years. The kids are quite excited about this event and have been talking non stop about his home coming since they found out. One of the thing he has asked for when he comes home is to have a huge family BBQ. Apparently he hasn’t had a BBQ since he left home. So I’m going to stock up on hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and ribs. Who knows, maybe I’ll throw in some fat burners as well. He will be home in a months time. So this will give me plenty of time to organize the biggest and best BBQ that I can. I know the kids are looking forward to this as am I.

My son came home from school yesterday with two Birthday Party Invitations. Both of the Party Birthday Invitations were almost identical in nature, so me being the curious person that I am, I asked one of the mother’s where she got her party invitations. She told me she found a site on the Internet over at www.announcements-shoppe.com. Apparently she uses this site a lot to order all her invitations party and has been extremely pleased with the quality of all the birthday invitations that she has purchased over time. So I have decided that the next time I need any type of invitation, I’m going to give this site a try.

This time of year is one of the hardest times of year for me. Five years ago I lost my dad to cancer, so when father’s day rolls around I tend to get a little depressed. We used to have such a great time on father’s day with my dad. My mom would send out Picnic Invitations to his entire family. And most of them would come. Then we would have a lot of food and music and just fun family time. But since his passing, there has been no Invitations Family Picnic sent out. I have thought about starting up this tradition again. But every time I think about giving out invitation picnic or picnic family invitations I start to get sad once again. I don’t know if I will ever be able to carrying on with this tradition, but I do think about it around this time of year, every year.

My husband has a new addiction. He is addicted to Airsoft Remote Control vehicles. Right now he has rc trucks, arc helicopter, and a rc car. He says that he has bought these Air soft Remote Control vehicles for our eight year old son. But, funny thing, he plays with them more than our son does. Last night I caught him looking at some newer models of these remote control vehicles and really had to laugh. When I mentioned this to him, he claimed he was looking at them to possibly purchase another one for our son’s birthday.
