Very soon my daughter will be turning 11 and my son will be turning 9. Because their birthdays are so close together (a day apart actually) I have plans on having one big birthday party for them both. Because their both in school they have different friends that they want to invite so I’m going to have to send out a half a dozen Birthday Invitations to different kids.
While I was searching the Internet I came across a site where I will be able to order all the Party Invitations that I will need. They have a beautiful selection of birthday invitations and party invitations to choose from and their prices are extremely reasonable. One of my favorite features of this site is that I can order the kids birthday invitations with a personal photo attached. So now all I have to do is find a picture I like and then I will be ordering my invitations.

Last weekend my two youngest were invited to a birthday party. But they were unable to attend as my youngest son was quite sick. And because I had to stay home with him, I wasn’t able to drive my daughter to the party. Well they were both invited to a birthday party this weekend and guess what?? They are both sick. So neither one will be attending this party either. The one they were supposed to go to today was at the bowling alley so that is why missing this one is bothering them a little bit more than missing the one last weekend. But what can you do? When the kids are sick you certainly don’t want to take them around other kids and you don’t want them getting overtired and playing themselves out.
They don’t have to go back to school until Wednesday so hopefully by then all this illness will be over. There will be other parties and other trips to the bowling alley so this really isn’t the end of the world. But to hear the kids talk, you would think that it was.

In less than two weeks my father in law will be getting married. As it stands right now the only members of the immediate family that will be attending will be my husband and I and the kids. One of my husband’s sisters lives quite far away and due to financial reasons won’t be able to attend. The other sister who does live in the province will be going in for hip surgery on October 20th so she won’t even be out of the hospital on the day of the wedding.
Both sisters do have some regrets about not being able to attend this event so I have told them both that I will take our camcorder and tape the event. My husband won’t be able to do the taping as he is actually in the wedding party as the best man. My photography skills aren’t the best, but at this point in time I am the best they got. lol It really is a shame that they will both miss it, but at least they will be able to watch the video of the event. Now if I can only do a good job and get a decent video out of the whole thing.

Well it was a sad day in the Darrell household here on Sunday. Sunday was the day that we chose to clean out the trailer and get it all packed up for the winter. When this day happens, this marks the end of the summer camping season officially. So I packed up all the utensils and coolers. They will be stored in the camper over the winter months. Inside I pack away all the swimwear from the past season. When all these items get put away you then realize that the camping season is indeed over. Oh well at least we all get to look forward to next year. But there was sure a lot of sad faces around our house this past Sunday.

Earlier this morning my husband and I set out with the kids to attend the giant flea market and car show that was being held in a town about an hours drive away from here. It is the largest flea market in this area and they hold it every year. We haven’t been to this event in many years and I was wondering why. But after walking around the event for over two hours, I suddenly remembered why we don’t make this an annual event. After we got back in the vehicle to head home I was so sore that I was actually contemplating in investing in some massage therapy. I am so sore just by walking around the different exhibits. So I think that I will hop into a nice bubble bath to try to eliminate all the soreness. I don’t ever remember this flea market being this big and I may just think twice about the walking again next year.

My father in law is getting married in a couple of months. This means that I have quite a bit of things I need to do. First of all I will need to get a hair cut and dye. Also I need to purchase me and the kids some wedding clothes. And I also need to find some good acne cures to clear up my face before the big day and all the pictures. My husband is going to be the best man at this wedding so he is also going to need to get some new clothes as well. Although it’s my father in law getting married, I can see this day costing us quite a bit of money. I don’t think I spent this much money on my own wedding.

Today is my husband’s and I’s anniversary. We have been married for 7 long…years today. We have actually been together for over 14 years, but it took me a little while to say yes when he asked me to marry him. After seven years of marriage I can honestly say that I’m glad I did say yes! So in a little while my husband is going to take me out to a restaurant of my choice for supper. And yes, we are taking the kids. Some of you may not think that this is a very romantic thing to do. But since we have been together for so long, taking the kids with us isn’t a real big deal.
So…I guess I’ll see you all later. Now all I have to do is decide where I want my husband to take me.

Just this past Christmas my youngest kids got a play station 3 from “Santa”. Although it was given to both kids, my youngest son gets the most enjoyment out of it. He is constantly playing it and when he is asked what he would like for a present he always says “a play station 3 game”.
Well it’s broke! It’s only 7 months old and right now it’s unusable. As far as we can tell, he put a magnet to close to the system and erased the hard drive. And do you think that we can find anyone around our area who works on them?? Nope. Nobody in this area will touch it because it has a hard drive. My husband did find a guy who is selling a used hard drive out of his system. So he’s going to purchase it and hopefully fix it. If this doesn’t work I don’t know what were going to do as this is a very expensive system.
If there is any gamers out there who have experienced something similar maybe you could give me your input?

One of the reasons why my husband and I love camping so much is because it gives us the opportunity to get away from the park and our neighbors. For the most part, most of our neighbors are OK but there comes a time in life when you need to get away from it all. This is why I was a little unsettled with a conversation my husband and I had last night.
The neighbor that lives beside us, that we see EVERY day is planning on loading up his camper this weekend and following us to our campsite. I’m not really thrilled about this idea. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t really mind this neighbor or his family. But seeing them every day, I kind of like getting away from them and just spending time with our own family. But I have no clue how to get around this. And unless his plans change, I think we are going to have some company on this trip.
What would you do in a case like this??

As it stands right now I’m not really sure if we will be headed out to the campsite this weekend or not. The weather man is calling for a little bit of rain over the next couple of days. Right now it’s cloudy but very very humid. We do have a pop up camper trailer so if it does rain we won’t get wet so we might just bite the bullet and head on out. The kids have expressed their interest in this little venture and the rain doesn’t bother them so I guess it shouldn’t bother us either. I don’t mind camping in the rain, but I do despise camping in the cold. But since it’s very hot and humid that wouldn’t be a factor in whether we go or not. I’ll be sure to let you all know what our final decision turns out to be.
