Lifes Like That

Well once again this summer we are tied down to our home this weekend. My husband has to work this weekend so we really can’t do much of anything again this summer. I really have to say that this has been a waste of a summer as he has worked so much that we really haven’t been able to do a lot. He has been talking about looking for a different job and I really hope he does. Maybe then we might actually get some time off together to do some fun stuff with the kids.

My husband’s niece is home for a visit. She lives about 1000 miles away and we haven’t seen her since she was 8 years old which is about 13 years ago. Yesterday her boyfriend and her stopped by. First she visited with me and the kids and then after my husband came home from work she came back to visit some more. We all had a blast. It was really great to see her and to meet her boyfriend. Of course we both pulled out our digital cameras so we got a lot of great pictures. She’s a really nice kid and we had a really great time. I only wish that she lived closer so that we could see her more than once in 13 years.

Tomorrow is the first day of our fishing season here in New Brunswick and to tell you all that my youngest son is super excited, would be an extremely serious understatement. Going fishing with his father is one of his most favorite things to do. My daughter on on the other hand, not so much. Sure she loves going on the trips with her father and brother (I’m not a fisherman), but she would rather go for the trip and play outside. She is not impressed with the whole idea of catching innocent fish and then eating them. But…. my son loves to catch “the big one”. So now with the season almost upon us, I can honestly see him digging out the poles.

Well after having my husband and kids home for the past couple of weeks, I am really starting to catch up on all the work that I wasn’t able to get done when they were home. I don’t have all that much work to do on the Internet any more and most of my housework is getting done as well. I really do love my family, but when their home, nothing, and I mean nothing seems to get done. Hopefully I get all I need to have done, done by the weekend and then I will only have to put up with their weekend mess.

Well after a week off, my husband went back to work this morning. Now normally I don’t really like it when he’s home for any length of time, but he actually wasn’t too bad this week. Normally he bugs the crap out of me and can sometimes be worse than the two younger kids. But this week he spent a lot of time on the computer looking up truck accessories and new trucks, so he pretty much let me alone. So now he’s back to work, but I have the two little ones home on their March break. So… I guess next week will be my time for a vacation.

I have to tell you all that I’m a bit confused. My husband asked me to search around the Internet to find him the best possible way to lose weight. Now I’ve come across a lot of sites, so hence my confusion. How in the world with so many sites to chose from, can a person make up their mind in which direction to go. I found a pretty interesting site over at quickweightloss.org and have sent him the link, but other than that I haven’t found too much. They all say the same thing and claim to be the best. I think his best option is just to go to the doctor and see what he recommends. Maybe I’ll e-mail him his doctors name and he’ll get my hint.

So there is only two weeks until Valentine’s day which also means that my husband has only two weeks to his birthday as well. Yes, he is a Valentine’s baby. Every year I try to do something special for him as both days are the same one. This year I’ve decided to surprise him with Davidoff cigars. He likes a good cigar every once and a while so I thought this would be perfect for him. Of course I’ll get him other stuff as well, but this will be his treat for this year. Now I just hope they arrive in time for the big day.

My husband gave me a nice surprise on Saturday. Normally after I get home from work on Saturday’s I have to make supper, feed the kids ad do the dishes. Well this past Saturday he bought supper and brought it home. And he even fed the kids. So all I had to do was come and eat to my little hearts content. And the best part?? It was from my favorite restaurant. KFC. Yay! So over the next two days I ate tons and tons of chicken and gravy. I ate so much that if I’m not careful I’ll have to start checking out some tretinoin products. But man…. it was good. I love little surprises like this and really hope he does it again in the very near future.

My husband and I have been together for almost 16 years now, and we are both starting to show our age. I have a lot of gray hair (which a box of dye can take care of) and he is losing his hair (which a natural hair loss treatment can take care of). But he seems to be bothered by these signs of growing older more than I am. Next month he will be turning 43 and even now when the kids mention his upcoming birthday he gets quite annoyed. I know we all have to get older and I accept that, but he certainly doesn’t. Man…. he is only turning 43 I don’t know what the problem is?!
