Fun Santa Clause parade

Fun Santa Clause parade

Saturday night was our annual Santa Clause parade and we took the kids to it. First of all I would like to tell you all that it was quite mild out so standing in the cold watching a parade was something that we didn’t have to do this year. And because the kids weren’t cold, they were happier to stand outside and watch the parade. Well it was a good parade this year with lots of floats, lights and music. It definitely put me in the Christmas mood. Both of the kids had their letters made up and gave them to the post men to give to Santa. So all in all it was a very good night, and fun was had by all.

Christmas shopping

I realize that it’s only October, but it really is time to start thinking about Christmas and Christmas present shopping. Every year I agonize over what to get my father in law (he has everything). But I think I’m a head of the game this year. I have decided to get him some Swisher Sweets. I think he would really enjoy this type of gift. And I know it is something that he wouldn’t purchase for himself. So now that that decision is made, all I have to do now is figure out what to buy the three children. So once again I sit here wishing that Christmas was all done and over with so I wouldn’t have to drive myself nuts on what gifts to buy each of the family members.

Family BBQ

My oldest son is planning on making a trip home this summer after being away for two years. The kids are quite excited about this event and have been talking non stop about his home coming since they found out. One of the thing he has asked for when he comes home is to have a huge family BBQ. Apparently he hasn’t had a BBQ since he left home. So I’m going to stock up on hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and ribs. Who knows, maybe I’ll throw in some fat burners as well. He will be home in a months time. So this will give me plenty of time to organize the biggest and best BBQ that I can. I know the kids are looking forward to this as am I.

It’s a girl!

My niece who lives quite far away from me just gave birth to her first child. And yes, it’s a girl. Mom and baby are doing just fine and so is the grandpa (my brother). I really do hope there will come a time soon when I get to see her again and see the baby. But until then there is facebook.

So congrats to you Cheryl!

Busy getting things done

For the past week, I have been busy trying to get things done before the kids end up being home for summer vacation. I have managed to get most of the things accomplished that I wanted to. I really only have to check out some free insurance quotes from different companies and then I will be all ready for them to be home for the summer season. I also wanted to get as much done this week as I could because my husband will be home from work next week as well. And we all know, that husband’s are the biggest kids of all. But now I don’t have to worry about anything and can just enjoy the time I will have to spend time with the family.

Religious invitations

Although I am not a highly religious person myself, I do have respect for other people’s beliefs. My father in laws new wife is hugely religious and I do respect her beliefs. So much so, that I told her about a site I found that I think would be right up her alley. As she is involved quite heavily in her church and church activities, she is always handing out Personalized Religious Invitations. So I found a site where she could purchase any type of religious invitation that she could ever possibly need. This site supplies all types of religious invitations such as Custom Baptism Invitations, christening invitations, and first communion invitations. She was tickled pink to find this site, and I was quite happy to help her out.

Father’s day picnic

This time of year is one of the hardest times of year for me. Five years ago I lost my dad to cancer, so when father’s day rolls around I tend to get a little depressed. We used to have such a great time on father’s day with my dad. My mom would send out Picnic Invitations to his entire family. And most of them would come. Then we would have a lot of food and music and just fun family time. But since his passing, there has been no Invitations Family Picnic sent out. I have thought about starting up this tradition again. But every time I think about giving out invitation picnic or picnic family invitations I start to get sad once again. I don’t know if I will ever be able to carrying on with this tradition, but I do think about it around this time of year, every year.

Father’s Day

As you all know, Father’s day is right around the corner. Well I have come up with the perfect gift to give my husband this year. I plan on buying him an airsoft rifle. I recently came across a site on the Internet that sells Airsoft Guns. And I think this would be an excellent gift for my husband. My son and him are heavily into Air soft Guns and I think this would be a perfect item for him and my son to share. Since my son is only eight, I have no real plans on purchasing in any airsoft electric guns of his own, but when he gets older I will probably purchase him one of his own. Well, I really can’t wait to see the look on both of their faces this coming Father’s day.

Sad news

Last night my aunt called me to inform me that my uncle was just diagnosed with Mesothelioma cancer. Now this is sad all on it’s own, except this news made me a bit sadder as he is the last of my father’s brothers to still be alive. And my grandmother is still alive so she has to go through this cancer business once again. My dad passed away from cancer as did my other uncle. So for the third boy in the family to be hit with this, this is just devastating. But as in other things in life, I’m trying to stay positive and am really hoping for the best.

Weekend plans

Well it’s Friday once again. So you all know what that means now don’t you? That means that the weekend is right around the corner. Well this weekend we have plans to go on our very first camping trip of the season. We will be leaving fairly early tomorrow morning and staying overnight. We will come back sometime in the afternoon on Sunday. The kids are getting pretty excited about all this and have had their bags packed for over a week now. The weather is supposed to be nice all weekend so I think we will all have a pretty good time.

So, have a great weekend and I’ll see you all again the first of next week.
