Beautiful gift

One of my friends just received a beautiful Jaeger Le Coultre watch as an appreciation gift for all her service to the company for the past 15 years. I had never seen a watch of this brand before, but after seeing hers I want one! I just love the style and look of the watch. She does work hard for the company and I was really pleased to see how they rewarded her for all her hard work. I have giving my husband some hints and maybe I will see something similar to this under my tree this year.

Going to Vegas

In January one of my best friends is going to Vegas and I am so jealous! Seriously, this is a major trip for her as we live in Canada so to be able to make a trip to Vegas will cost quite a bit, but this is a once in a life time trip that I know that she will be able to experience. Her and her husband have worked very hard during their lives so this is pretty much a celebration to them of all their hard work. Since she refuses to let me jump in her suitcase, she has promised to bring me back a collector’s spoon. And when she gets back, she will tell me all about it, so I can relive the experience with her. Better than nothing. I think…..

Another friend moving away

I seems like most of my friends are up and moving.  One of my good friends moved earlier this summer and now I’ve found out that another one will be leaving as well.  So her sisters have arranged a surprise going away party for her for this evening.  This may be the very last time that we all can get together as she is moving quite far away, so my husband and I have made arrangements to attend this party this evening.  I think it will be a fun time, as all her family are really nice and quite humorous, but it’s going to be sad as well.  Still though, I wouldn’t miss this night for anything as it will probably be the last time I see her.  We will still be able to keep in contact through e-mails and such, but it’s still not the same thing.

A nice little treat

When I first started on the Internet and first started blogging, I had no clue what I was doing and I required a lot of assistance from fellow bloggers to lend me a hand. Now that I’ve been doing this for a little while, I have learned a lot and now I am one of the ones that people call on when they need assistance. I don’t mind at all and it gives me great pleasure to know that I have acutally helped someone. Just their thanks alone is enough for me.

A friend of mine that I’ve been helping out quite a bit getting into blogging sent me a special little treat yesterday as her way of saying thanks. She made me a tray of peanut butter balls. Just saying thank you to me for my help was enough, but she felt she needed to do something a little extra. I don’t mind (LOL) and neither did my kids. But honestly thanks would have been enough.

I stumbled.

I stumbled, but I didn’t fall down. LOL No acutally I am talking about a program that I just joined that I am thouroughly enjoying. It is a blogging community where you can meet new friends, reconnect with old ones and get exposure for your blogs. And the name of this community is StumbleUpon. I have only been with it a couple of days, but I am really enjoying reading other people’s websites and hopefully soon others will be reading mine. This is a great opportunity to get exposure for your blogs. So, if your a blogger and would like to be a part of this incredible community, all you need to do is stumble on over and register. It’s just as easy as that and no, you won’t fall down and get hurt. LOL

Blogging can be frustrating

I really can’t say that I’m an experienced blogger…yet. But, I’m getting there. When I first started blogging six months ago, I didn’t even know how to copy and paste. How lame is that in today’s world of computers and technology? But, I am a very avid learner so through trial and error I am getting better. I have learned how to copy and paste, insert html code, and upload photos. Well, today I learned how to install plugins.

I’d like to say that I learned this on my own through trial and error, but that would be a lie. I had a lot of help from a fellow blogger Cynthia. If it wasn’t for this lady’s patience and knowledge I wouldn’t be able to post that I learned how to do plugins. Even when I messed up my blog (royally) she didn’t give up on me and stayed with me until I had success. So, I have to say that it is because of people like Cynthia that I am able to learn more and more everyday about the world of blogging and my frustration level is able to go down a little bit each day.

Thanks for everything Cynthia!! You will never know how much I appreciated all the time you took with me.

Purchasing a handbag

One of my friends is a purse and handbag fanatic. She has so many in her closet that I really couldn’t count them all. I’m pretty sure that she has one to match every outfit in her wardrobe. And if she’s missing one, it is not for lack of trying. Her birthday is coming up and I have decided to purchase her a unique handbag as I know she would get a major kick out of this. So I’ve been searching different sites on the Internet to find uniques and stylish handbags.

I have discovered a site over at Ashleysboutique.com where they list a wide variety and assortment of stylish handbags. They carry designers such as Louis Vuitton, Coach, Prada, and Gucci. Their site is completely geared toward fashion and concious women. Which my friend just happens to be. So, I am headed over to this site to find that perfect handbag to add to her collection.

Sad day

One of my best friends is leaving the province today and this was a very sad day for her and I.  She is a lot like me in the fact that we both have lots of acquaintances, but not a whole lot of good friends.  So, when one moves away it becomes a sad day.  I was very surprised to see her standing on my doorstep yesterday.  She had stopped by to say goodbye and to give me some copies of pictures that she had taken on the day the kids and I went over to say our goodbyes.  So, although she is leaving, I’m sure we will remain good friends and keep in touch.  And, now I have these lovely pictures, plants and lilac bush to keep reminding me of her and our friendship.

I think this is one of the reasons that I don’t usually like to get close to people as they tend to end up leaving in one form or another and it always seems to be very difficult and sad.  But, that’s the way life goes and we all have to deal with departure at one time or another.  I do wish her and her family well and I am heartened by the fact that we will be able to keep in touch.
