Lifes Like That

I have been involved with a company that sent me a laser barcode scanner in the mail. I scan all my purchases every week into this scanner and then send the information to them every Friday. For doing this work for them I earn points and when I get enough points I can trade them in for gifts in their gift catalogue. Well one of the gifts that I really want is an e-reader. But this e-reader takes a lot of points. I’m not even close. I think it’s going to take me quite a while to earn the points I need for this gift. But every week I will continue to scan and hopefully be able to earn the points I need for this reward. It’s just going to take a little longer than I had originally thought.

Well officially on the calendar it’s spring but after seeing what we went through over the weekend, I’m not really sure if spring is actually here. This is supposed to be the time of year where ladies are looking up where to find the best diet pills for women to get ready for the spring and summer season, not the time of year that we are once again having to dig out the shovels and snow blowers. Honestly I think mother nature got a little confused this year. We had all the snow gone and the ground was starting to look good and now…. it’s covered again with the white stuff. Oh well, I’m sure spring will arrive sooner or later. I just wish mother nature would somehow get it together.

Well it’s official. We are due for one of the worst storms of this winter season. We are expected to get 40 to 50 cm of snow before it all changes to rain and freezing rain! Holy smokes, that’s a lot of snow. Thankfully I don’t have to work tonight so I don’t have to travel in it. I just hope and pray that it doesn’t start until the children and my husband are safely home. So… it looks like it’s going to be another bad one. Hopefully this is the very last storm for the season.

You sure know spring is in the air when Tim Horton’s annual Roll up the Rim to win contest is back. Well it’s back and it started yesterday. It’s pretty cool. All you have to do is purchase your coffee that you would anyway and when you’re done roll up the rim to see if you are a winner. You can win tons of great stuff like cars, cash, Tim cards, food and COFFEE! Since it’s inception all I have ever won is food and coffee, but it’s still great to get something free. So later on I will be making my daily purchase and rolling up the rim to win!

Man… why does this always happen to me?? It’s snowing again and once again it’s a day that I’m supposed to work. So… fingers crossed that the snow stops or slows down or I don’t know what I’m going to do. The last two snowstorms we have had my boss has called and told me to stay home. But this won’t happen today as the other waitress I’m with is still fairly new so I really have to be there. So please all pray for me that this snow comes to an end soon and the roads get cleaned up enough for me to get to work.

So yesterday we got hit with another massive snowstorm. This time we ended up having over 30 cm of snow come down. On top of what we already have, we have a massive amount of snow outside. So you can guess what I will be doing today. Instead of doing housework and cleaning my rustic furniture today, I will be attempting to dig out of all this snow. I have to shovel the deck and around my car so I can at least get out later on this afternoon. Man… I absolutely hate winter and honestly can’t wait until all this white stuff melts away!

Well it’s another cold one! Right now it’s minus 21 degrees outside with a windchill factor of minus 30. That’s just too cold for me. Early this morning I had to drive the kids to the bus stop and let me tell you all even when I bundled up with my nba shirts, two sweaters and a heavy jacket, I was still freezing. Things are supposed to warm up over the next couple of days and I’m really hoping that they do! I hate the cold. I hate winter and can’t wait until Spring and Summer to arrive.

Finally after six years of having three vehicles too many my husband has made the decision to sell one of our vehicles. And because I drive his Jeep constantly, we have decided to sell my car. Not only will we able to get a little cash for the car, but not having to pay two car insurance payments will save us money as well. We really don’t need this car as we have his Jeep and he also has a work truck. So this decision makes sense. Now if I could only talk him into buying a house, I would be one content person.

So this morning as I sit at my computer typing I just heard on the radio that it is minus 20 with a windchill factor of minus 28 out. Man… that’s cold! It’s so cold out there right now that all the walnut trees and other trees look pretty pitiful. I guess I should be glad I’m not a tree! So because it’s so cold out today I am absolutely not going anywhere today. I’m sure I can find lots to do in my nice warm house today. Hopefully it warms up some tomorrow and then I can do all my errands tomorrow.
