Lifes Like That

What a great day today is. Not only is it mothers day, but it’s my birthday as well! And so far I’ve had a pretty good day. My kids and my husband gave me some presents, bought me my favorite cake (black forest cake), and the kids even did up a slide show on their computer of all our family members. The two kids have even been pretty good and not fighting quite so much. It’s days like today that make me wish my birthday was every day.

So there is only two weeks until Valentine’s day which also means that my husband has only two weeks to his birthday as well. Yes, he is a Valentine’s baby. Every year I try to do something special for him as both days are the same one. This year I’ve decided to surprise him with Davidoff cigars. He likes a good cigar every once and a while so I thought this would be perfect for him. Of course I’ll get him other stuff as well, but this will be his treat for this year. Now I just hope they arrive in time for the big day.

So my husband and I finally have made a dent in our Christmas shopping. Yesterday he stopped into one of our local stores while he was on his lunch break and bought our daughter some Couture Jewelry and bought our son a Jimmie Johnson race car (for all you NASCAR fans out there, you know who he is). But that was pretty much it. I know it’s not much, but hey, at least it’s a start. Now that we’ve started I think I’ll see a little more progress in the weeks to come. So how about you guys??
