Lifes Like That

I’m loving my high speed

I’m loving my high speed

Last week I took the plunge from dial up to high speed and I have to say that I don’t think that I’ve ever been happier with a decision that I have made.  Yes, it does cost a little more than what I’m used to paying, but I have to tell you all that the extra cost is so…worth it!  Matter of fact, I just shake my head at the thoughts of me not wanting to spare the extra cash in the first place.  I could have saved myself two years of headaches had I known what I know now.  Not only is one of the benefits of having high speed a faster service, but my husband and I can both be on the net at the same time with no fighting.  We don’t have to take turns and I can work when I want to.  After this past week, I have discovered one thing, I will NEVER go back to dial up.  Never again.

Why Buy.com Rocks!

I’m in recovery! I’m recovering from my “I hate to shop” addiction. Buy.com is helping me through this transition. And…now I’m going to tell you why buy.com rocks.

First and foremost is you get to avoid all the crowds, standing in line, and the seriously high prices. This is accomplished because all your purchases can be done directly online and you even have the option of comparison shopping right off the items page. So, you know that the price you see is the price you pay. And with free shipping, there are no added costs. They use real people to give honest reviews so you know the reviews are based on a real person’s experience. To make the site a little more entertaining, their official spokesperson is the one and only “Howie Mandel”. New customers get an additional $10.00 off with Google checkout.

So, here you go. In this video, which I created myself, you get to watch my recovery in progress. And you get to see for yourself why buy.com rocks.

Another program

Well I am always looking around for different ways to earn a little income from home. Now that I have six blogs on the go, I am constantly looking for good programs to get involved with. I had heard about this site over a Project Wonderful and started doing a little research on the income level that I could expect from this program if I decided to join it.

Yesterday I signed up for it over at my other blog Thinking Outloud to try to test this system out. It doesn’t cost you a cent to join and you can potentially earn a small amount of income for it. The income that you could receive comes from people buying your ad space. Bidding starts out very cheaply ($0.00 actually) and the more people who become interested in your ads, the more you can charge for them. Right now my ads are set up at $0.00 so this is quite cheap advertising for anybody who would like to advertise on my site.

As I said, I just joined so I am not really sure how this will all pan out. But as soon as I start seeing any actual movement towards people buying my ads which will give me this income that I am so looking forward to, I’ll let you know. Of course if you want to advertise with me, all you need to do is to drop over to my site and place your bid.

Spam comments

I’ve got to tell you all that the biggest annoyance I have found on the Internet is having to sift through all the spam comments that I receive on all my blogs every day.  I literally spend a couple of hours each day rejecting spam comments.  But along with the time that it takes me to delete all these unnecessary comments, a couple of times I have deleted honest comments by mistake.

So, if I deleted a real comment from you, I am truly very sorry.  I value each and every “real” comment and I never would intentionally delete or spam your comment.  I wish there was a way in which I could make these spammers stop from visiting me.

Any suggestions??

Rambling On

Well yesterday I was sitting at my computer quiet bored, so I decided to start another blog! Yes, you read right!! Another one. But, I can honestly tell you all that this will be my final one. As of right now, including this one, I have seven blogs on the go. But, when I have all these sites up and running the way I want them to, I will be phasing out three of them. That leave me four blogs and that will be just fine with me.

If anyone is interested, my new blog can be found over at Rambling On. As I said this blog is really, really new with not much content on it right now (only one post so far). But, if you know me, it won’t take me very long to get it up to the standards that I so enjoy. So, if your looking for a new blog to read why not drop by this site and find out what I’m “Rambling On” about today.

I took a ME day!

Wednesday I had a very upsetting and quite unsettling day here on the Internet.  So, yesterday I decided to take a me day.  I found this was extremely important to me to step away from the computer and only worry about my “real life” for a change.  What triggered this horrible day was I wrote a post on a teenager being caught drinking. (it’s in this blog, but I won’t link to it).  You wouldn’t believe the comments and bashing I received over this post.  You would have thought people thought I was talking about their child and school.

So, since this turn of events did upset me quite a bit, I decided not to go online at all yesterday.  I needed to find out that if  by staying away from all the “nasty commenter’s” I could bring back my love of blogging.  I am happy to report that it did and I have come to a decision that these types of commenter’s will never get me down again.  It’s my blog and my words.  If they don’t agree with me and want to get nasty about the whole thing, then they don’t ever need to come back to my blog for another visit.

Now before anyone here gets upset with me for this post.  Let me make one thing clear!  I welcome comments and I do publish most of them.  Even if the commenter doesn’t agree with me.  But, when you start to get nasty, I will not publish the comment.  If you want to have a rational (even heated) exchange of words and ideas, I am more than up for this.  But, I will not subject myself to people who  just want to be nasty.

I’m in a better frame of mind today so that’s how I know a ME day was successful!

Tracking my visitors

I have been owning and maintaining several blogs over the past year and have recently made a decision regarding my online activities. I have decided to try to scale back some of my online work so I have been trying to decide which blogs have the most traffic and readers. These blogs I will concentrate a little more heavily on than the ones without the extra traffic. While I was tracking my visitors, I was quite surprised to see that one of my visitors from this site actually looked up the keywords hotels Las Vegas. I realize that finding information concerning Las Vegas can be very important to some people, but I was a little surprised that they would use these keywords in this manner. Oh well, I hope they found what they were looking for.

Flattered….I think??

I have been working on the Internet for the past year and after seeing a post on someone else’s blog this morning, I feel quite flattered…I think?? After reading the post of this individual and seeing that the very first link that they posted to was mine, this shows me that people are finding some of my blog posts.

The reason why I am unsure as to why I should be flattered or not is because the link that he posted to was about one of the companies that I post for, but he actually got the wrong company. I have never made any secret to the fact that I do some paid posting and I have never tried to hide this fact. But because this individual isn’t a fan of one of the companies that I do work for he decided to use one of my posts as an example.

A lot of people would be upset that any site would link to them in a negative manner, but I guess my feelings on the entire thing is if he is posting about my site, then he is potentially giving me some extra traffic. Not what he intended I’m sure, but what the heck, I’ll take it!!
