I’ve got to tell you all that I’m kind of enjoying our winter weather this year. We’ve barely gotten any snow and when we do get the snow within a couple of days it’s all gone! Last Friday we got hit with a pretty big snowstorm and now today as I sit here looking out my window I can once again see bare ground and all the address signs in the neighborhood as due to some massive heavy rains last night it took away all the snow. And even in January we are experiencing temps in the pluses instead of minuses. This isn’t great weather for those who enjoy our great Canadian snow, but for me it’s been one of the best winters in a long time. Hopefully this trend keeps up and before you know it winter will be gone and spring will be here once again.

Well since the end of the year is looming ahead of us, this year I have made a New Year’s resolution. I have vowed to try to save money anyway I can and earn extra money so I can have a down payment on a house within the next year or two. I have already been checking out sites like Wholesaleinsurance.net to see if I can save some money on insurance and I have been sending out my resume to companies online to see if I can pick up some extra freelance work. Hopefully this is a good start in my goal to save up some cash this year. I will continue to think of other areas where I can save money as well and hopefully soon I can post that I have saved up enough money to put a down payment on a house.

For the first time in over six years my husband and I will be attending his company staff party. The reason why we haven’t gone in six years is because up until this year we haven’t had a babysitter for our two kids. But this year we are planning on going because our daughter is now at the age where she is able to watch her brother for a little bit at a time. So later on tonight we will be headed out for the first time in six years without the children. I am actually really looking forward to our first adult meal without children. We aren’t going very far so we won’t be gone very long. But we will still get to go out and enjoy a little adult time.

Well it’s Saturday and I’m already bored. Yeah, I have loads of work I could do but nothing that I really want to do. I do have a few articles on water softeners that I need to write up but that doesn’t sound like much fun now does it? I think I’m in a rut and I really don’t like it. I would love to find something new and exciting to do with my time but so far that hasn’t happened. Oh well, I’ve been here before and somehow have managed to come out of it. I’ll just have to try to muddle through life these days and hope things become a little more exciting for me in the near future.

This is really turning out to be an expensive month. Not only am I forking out money left, right and center for school clothes and supplies, but I also have to find some money to buy a few presents. I have two birthdays and one anniversary this month that I have to find gifts for. Thank goodness I had bookmarked a site over at Personal Creations where I have found some pretty neat products. And the best part, I didn’t have to go into a store to make my purchases. Hopefully after all these purchases are done I can start saving my money once again. I’m really starting to get tired of spending money. ha, ha

If your a regular reader of this blog, then you are already well aware of the computer troubles that I have been having over the past few months. But me being the cheap person I am, I really didn’t want to purchase a new one. Well last week that decision was taken out of my hands. My computer finally gave up the ghost and I had to go out and purchase a new one. This one that I’m on now is a much better unit and although I am quite poor now, I am very happy with my purchase. So hopefully I won’t be posting any more computer troubles anytime soon.

I’ve got to say that after experiencing about three weeks of steady rain it’s actually nice to look out the window this morning and finally see the sunshine! I knew it would come eventually but it really was starting to get a bit depressing looking at all that rain. But the sun is out and very soon I will be too. We are supposed to get more rain tomorrow so I’m going to take advantage of all this sunshine and go outside today and get some work done. So although we are not supposed to have this sun for very long, I’m going to enjoy it while we have it and pray that we will see more of this weather a little more often.

The weekend isn’t even here yet and the children have already started to drive me crazy. They are home from school today as the teachers have meetings and then on Monday they also have a holiday. They would rather fight than have any fun at all! They are only 10 and 12 and other people have told me the fighting is only going to get worse, but I honestly can’t see how much worse it could get. So… the articles on metal buildings are probably going to have to wait as I don’t have the peace and quiet I need to do the proper research on them. Oh well, Tuesday is coming right?!

There has been a serious rise in gambling addiction in our area over the past couple of years. Well our government has decided to try to combat this problem. They just announced that they are going to invest in some gambling addiction centers around our area to try to get this problem under control. A lot of the crime that is committed in our area is because people have become addicted to gambling an feel that there is no where to turn for help. Hopefully these new centers will help the people who need it and help bring down the crime rates in our areas. Anything at this point can only help.

Wow, April first already! Where does the time go?? It just seems like yesterday that I was putting away all the Christmas decorations and now it’s April. But even though it’s April, old man winter isn’t quite done with us yet. Today were are expected to get another 15 to 20 cm of snow. That’s right guys SNOW! So since I won’t be able to go outside at all today I have decided to clean out my craft room. I think I will first start sorting my beads and trying to find some suitable bead storage and then I’ll probably move onto sorting all my fabric to see what I’ve got and what I need. Oh well hopefully this is the FINAL storm of the year and we can all enjoy nice warm days and less time spent indoors.
