Lifes Like That

Beautiful weekend ahead

Beautiful weekend ahead

I have to tell you all that I could not be more impressed with the weather we are having if I was living in Orlando and had a orlando timeshare. For the past week we have seen nothing but sunshine and temperatures ranging over the the freezing mark. It’s still cold during the night, but that’s okay as I’m normally in bed. And this weather is supposed to continue over this upcoming weekend as well. I don’t want to jinx us, but I dare say that spring is finally on it’s way. Now all we have to do is get rid of all this snow that is on the ground and I will be one happy camper.

Spring like weather

What a beautiful weekend we just had! The sun was shining all weekend and the temperatures were above the freezing mark all weekend. It was a perfect weekend to get outside and get some exercise. It sure beat staying inside and working on my fitness equipment. The weatherman is calling for this type of weather all this week as well, so I guess I will be spending a lot of time outdoors this week. It really has been a long, cold winter and I am so happy to see spring is finally on it’s way.

My March break

Last week my husband was home for the week on holidays and this past week my two younger children were home from school on March break. Honestly folks I think it’s time that I had a March break of my own. Having people constantly underfoot for two weeks have made it nearly impossible for me to get anything done. I haven’t even been able to be on my laptop to do some work as much as I would like. I just haven’t been able to concentrate much. But…. next week they will all be out of the house once again so I should be able to get back into a normal routine. Man… I can’t wait until Monday!

A very long…. weekend

Well I wasn’t able to start work on any type of craft this weekend. Actually I wasn’t able to get much of anything done this weekend. The two kids are home on March break this week and they spent their entire weekend fighting. Well this meant that I really couldn’t concentrate on a whole lot of anything. So…. if they keep this behavior up, it really doesn’t look like I’m going to get much of anything accomplished this week. Hopefully they’ll slack back on their fighting and I’ll be able to get some stuff done. Otherwise, I’ll just have to put everything off until next week when I’m home alone (man…. I can’t wait for next week!)

They grow up so fast

This morning for the first time in seven years I did not drive my kids to the bus stop. My husband and I felt that our daughter should start having more responsibilities so we allowed her to walk her brother to his bus stop this morning. Then she came home, got ready for school and walked herself to the bus stop. This was really weird for me. But she is almost at the age where by law she can babysit her brother, so we decided to test her out and see how she does with this little bit of responsibility. She did very well so I guess from now on I will not be driving them to the bus stop but will let them head out on their own.

In a rut

Do you all know what I realized today??? I do the same thing every day. I get the kids ready for school, spend a couple of hours in the Internet (sometimes looking up top rated wrinkle creams), do my housework, spend a couple of more hours on the computer, get the kids from the bus stop, make supper, watch a little bit of TV and then going to bed. Day in and day out (except for weekends) this is what I do. No wonder I’m bored and a little depressed these days. I really wish I could find something different to do. Maybe if I did, I wouldn’t feel as lousy as I do these days.

These people really need to give up!

I spend every day all day screening phone calls. My husband’s bank calls him at least four or five times a day and even though I have told them repeatedly that he is at work, they still won’t stop calling. So now I just look at the caller ID and don’t even bother to answer it. It has almost gotten as bad as all the adult acne remedies e-mails that I have been getting lately in my inbox. What is it going to take to get these people to stop?? Oh well for now I screen all these calls and hopefully one day they will give up. But if they don’t, I will keep up my payments on my caller ID so I at least don’t have to talk to them.

Eleven going on sixteen

My daughter is starting to become a little teenager and let me tell you all, this is not pretty. She has the attitude of a sixteen year old, and she is only eleven. Just last night she was complaining about her acne (what acne??) and was asking me what I thought is the best acne treatments for her. She has no acne, but just to keep the peace I told her I would check into it. Man, this girl is going to drive me nuts. I really hope this is not a glimpse of what the future holds for me. If it is, I’m really going to have to stock up on a lot of acne products (for her phantom acne). I’ll keep you posted on how or if I survive the growing up of my daughter. Thankfully my other child is a boy. Life should be easier.

TV shows

One of the things that I don’t like about Christmas is the fact that none of my regular shows air any new episodes during this time. For the past few days I have been watching re-runs of everything. Last night I was so desperate to watch something different that I actually watched a show on rv breakdowns. It wasn’t very interesting, but at least it was something different to watch. I can’t wait until the new year when new episodes of my shows start airing again. Until then, maybe I’ll just read a good book.

Minor snowstorm

Well, we didn’t get it! We didn’t get the big snowstorm that we were supposed to get and yes, the kids are in school today. We got some snow, wind and freezing rain, but it was nothing compared to what they had predicted. I was actually prepared for this big snow and it didn’t even happen. I had the humidifier filters ready, the generator all gassed up and plenty of groceries to do us for awhile. Thankfully I didn’t need to use any of this and will still have lots of stuff ready when these big snowstorms to eventually happen. But for now, life goes on as normal.
