Lifes Like That

Well now we get to play the waiting game. Last week I filled out our taxes and my husband mailed them. We both have refunds coming back this year so we are kind of anxious to get our refund checks. I know we could have gone to a place and got a cash advance but since I want to keep all my money, we sit here and wait for the mailman. But that’s okay. When the money comes in we really don’t have to pay a whole lot of bills with it, so it will be extra money in our pockets. I just hope it doesn’t take too long as I really would love to have that extra cash.

Holy smokes I can’t believe how fast time flies these days. While we’re going through our day to day lives it seems like life is crawling at a standstill but when you think back, it feels like life is just sailing by. I can’t believe it’s been a couple of months since my husband made his new years resolution to give up his cigars and has actually stuck with it. Too bad I didn’t have the will power he has. But… it’s a brand new month so you never know what can happen. Next week the kids are home from school for the week on March break and then I’ll see the time fly by even more quickly.

Well it’s that time of year again. The time of year that we all fill out those dreaded tax information form and keep our fingers crossed that we don’t have to give the government any more money. This year I’m going to be able to file my taxes early as yesterday I got the final T-4 form that I need to fill out the tax forms. I did a little bit of work on it last night and discovered that I’m getting a refund this year! Yay for me! At least I don’t have to look into any payday advance loans to get the money to pay into the government this year. I’m not really getting much back this year but I really don’t care as long as I don’t have to pay in. My husband’s taxes now will be a different story. Finger’s crossed that he won’t have to pay in either.

Well I warned you all. I was going to take the weekend off from my computer and I did! It was great knowing that I really didn’t have that much work sitting there waiting for me and that I didn’t have to spend my entire weekend on the computer. The kids seemed to enjoy this time off as well. Hopefully I can do this a bit more often as I really am starting to get a little burnt out on this computer. I have some work that is due next Monday so I’m hoping to get this all done this week and maybe I can take another weekend. We will see I guess.

For the third week in a row the kids get to enjoy a snow day. Me, not so much. Oh well this is our Canadian winter at it’s finest. Right now it is snowing and blowing out quiet bad so me and the kids well spend a (hopefully) quiet day in the house. Later on this afternoon we will have to go out and shovel as I do have to go to work later on this afternoon. Man, if these snow days keep up I really won’t have to invest in any slimming wraps as I’m pretty sure I’m getting all the exercise I need digging out from storms. Hopefully it tapers off soon and my ride to work isn’t eventful. Have I mentioned lately how I absolutely hate winter?!

Well I guess I don’t have too much work to do today so it’s going to be a *me* day! After I do a bit of laundry and a small amount of Internet work I’m going to take the rest of the day and just enjoy it. I plan on digging around in my craft room for a while and then will probably finish making my scented candles. I just love *me* days and they don’t happen very often. Hopefully nothing crops up that needs my undivided attention and I can just enjoy my day. Have a great day everyone!

Well it’s Monday again, so you all know what that means now don’t ya?? That’s means I’ve got a ton of work to do today and really not enough time in the day to get it all done. But… I really don’t mind today as it’s really, really cold out so any plans of going here and there outside is kind of being put on a back burner. So I guess I have lots of time to get all the housework done and I will also have a lot of time to finish up my computer work.

Well yesterday we got hit with our first major snowstorm of the year. And boy… did we ever get hit. Almost 20cm of snow came down yesterday. It has finally stopped snowing now so I guess all that’s left to do is try to dig ourselves out of this mess. I really think at this point in my life I’d rather sort out my husband’s ties than to head outside in this weather and shovel the driveway. Oh well, since my husband is at work and I have to go to work later on this afternoon it will be up to me and the children to dig ourselves out of the snow.

I can’t believe that Christmas is only a little over two weeks away. It seems that the closer we get to that day, the faster the days go. And… I still have so much to do that I’m getting a little anxious. It seems like this time of year I have more work online to get done as well. So between juggling work, home and all the Christmas preparations, it always seems like I’m running out of time. But… the day will arrive and I know everything will be done. So I guess I’ll just have to keep that thought in my brain and try not to panic quite so much.

I’ve got to tell you all that I did not have the most wonderful day. My son was home sick, the weather was nasty outside and I spent all day on my computer doing a transcription file. I did manage to finish one file, but I still have one to go and man…. is it ever brutal. The files are taking so long to finish because the audio that was sent to me is extremely poor. So for a job that I thought should only take me one day, it’s probably going to take at least three.

So now you know why I’ve had such a crappy day. Hope tomorrow goes better.
