Well I never thought that I would be saying this, but I think I’ve found too much work on the Internet. This past weekend was brutal for the work that I had to get done, and nope, I didn’t get it all done. So I had to make a very difficult decision and had to drop a contract. That means less money for me, but at least I won’t be spending 24/7 on my computer any more. I dropped the lower paying contract that required a lot of work for a little bit of money. So in the future I won’t be writing any more articles on Mesothelioma and will be able to concentrate on my blogging and general transcription jobs. I really didn’t want to give up this other contract, but with time constraints, something had to go. Now that I’ve made my decision, I do feel a lot less panic about getting the other work done.

Yeah, I know it’s only Thursday, but earlier this afternoon I got a pile of work sent to me that I need to have completed over the weekend. Thank god I don’t have to work weekends at my outside job any more. If I had to I would NEVER get all this work done. I have eight files due for my general transcription job, I just received word that I’m going to have to have five articles written for my writing job (hopefully it’s not on herbal colon cleanse or I will be spending a lot of time on research), and I would really like to be able to do some blog posts over the weekend. Oh well, I’m not complaining. After all it is work which means it is money.

After my shift ends at work tonight, I will then have four days off. Man…. I’m really looking forward to this. I have so much stuff that I need to do that over these next few days I’m seriously going to be busy. I have quite a bit of blogging to do, a few articles on wrinkle cream need to be written, and I have a transcript due on Monday from a company. So although I have four days off from my regular job, I will still have plenty to keep my busy working at home. But I don’t mind. At least when I’m working from home I get to set my own hours, work in my pj’s and I don’t have to face any cranky customers. This is definitely my kind of job.

For the past couple of months I have been have serious issues with going to work. Every shift I’m supposed to work, I just absolutely dread. I really don’t know what is going on. Once I get there, I’m normally fine and have a great time at my job. It’s just the thoughts of going. Well I think things will be better now. This past Sunday was my last weekend shift and now I’m only working Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I think by having my hours cut, I will be more inclined to go to the shifts that I do have left. Well time will tell if this is the fix I needed to get out of my going to work rut.

So with all this extra time on my hands, I have decided to re-do over my home office once again. I plan on completely emptying it out and starting from scratch. After I get it all cleaned and all the big pieces of furniture moved back in, I plan on re-organizing my filing cabinet. I’m not really sure what’s in there, but am hoping there’s a lot of office supplies in there. Hopefully I have enough and won’t have to go out and purchase anything. So…. after I get all my regular work done today, I’m going to tackle this big project.

Sunday was my final breakfast shift at my outside job. From now on I will only be working about eight hours a week, but that is fine with me. This choice to change my hours at my job was totally my choice. It was just getting to difficult to try to work around my husband’s schedule and my own. And since his employment is a whole lot more important (money wise) than mine, I had to give up these hours. So at least for now, I will only be working a couple of evenings a week. This is fine for now, and maybe in the future I may increase my hours again. Then again, I may enjoy my weekends off so much, that I may not.

For the past year I have been working every weekend. Well, I’ve gotten tired of doing that. So next weekend will be my last weekend of working. I still plan to continue to work there on Tuesday and Thursday nights. But after next weekend, the weekends will once be mine to call my own. I will miss my regular customers that I wait on every weekend, but I really do think it’s time to make a change. So only two more weekend shifts to go and then I’m done. I can’t wait!

Since September I have had the same shifts at my outside job. I work every Tuesday and Thursday evening and I work every Saturday and Sunday breakfast shift. Although I absolutely love my job, I am getting really tired of working every weekend. So I have decided to cut back my hours at my job. Yesterday I went into work and discussed this with my boss. So it’s official in two weeks time, my hours will be greatly reduced and I will only be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Yes, this means less income for me, but at this point in my life, I really don’t care. I just need the break.

So how was your weekend?? Mine was pretty boring. The reason for this boredom is because for once I wasn’t busy at work and the days just seem to drag on. We have a new waitress where I work and it was left up to me to train her. That meant that on a really not busy day (Saturday) there was two of us working, so there wasn’t much work for either one of us that day. And on Sunday there was three of us out front, so that meant even less work for all of us. It was as boring as if I was checking out insurance online. Hopefully I won’t have to train her much longer and can have my regular shifts back to myself.

Normally I don’t make any new year’s resolutions. Over the years I have found that even when I made them, I never kept them. But this year I have made one, and I am really trying to make it come true. No it’s nothing like losing weight or finding the best diet supplement to help me achieve this. It has to do with my income that I bring into the house. This year I would like to find enough work on the Internet so that by the time summer comes I will have enough money coming in the house to be able to quit my outside job. I have been applying at different companies (with limited success) to achieve this goal. I still have a few months to make this resolution come true. So I guess only time will tell.
