On Friday my husband celebrated his 10 year anniversary at his job. Wow, I can’t believe that it’s been 10 years already. I can remember the day he went for the interview and how nervous he was. Well since he’s been there for so long, I’m assuming he has gotten over his nervousness. lol
His boss was pretty great to him on Friday. They gave him a beautiful gold diamond studded pin for his 10 years of service. The entire shop took him out to dinner to celebrate this day and his boss gave a very moving speech to him in front of the guys. Although he has had some problems over the years, he does seem to be content so I guess we can probably expect another 10 years to go by. And if it goes as quickly as the last 10 it won’t be anytime at all before he hits the 20 year mark.
Oh…I almost forgot to mention the best part. He now gets four weeks vacation during the summer. So that means an extra week of camping for us!

So my husband has finally taken the plunge and started handing out his resume. Although he is currently employed, he hasn’t been very happy there for a very long time so he has finally decided it’s time to do something about it. The only problem with this line of thought is that he can’t stand change. So for him to make a big move such as this, he must be really unhappy.
With his line of work he needs to get a full check up from the doctor for pretty much any company that he wants to work for. The last time he was going for a different job, I was amazed at how thorough his check up needed to be. His doctor even suggested that he get a colon cleanse to ensure his over all health. But at this point I don’t think it really matter what he has to go through to change jobs, just as long as he does in fact get a different job.

Although I have been busy trying to get a small home crafting business up and running. My efforts don’t seem to be paying off very well. So I’m thinking that I’m going to have to make some changes in the way I do things. The first thing I need to do is get a better budgeting and planning schedule worked out. I think this may be a big reason why things are not going the way I want to. Right now I have no clue what my budget should be and forget about having a proper planning schedule. I think if I tackle these two concepts in a more professional manner, I may start to see the results that I’m looking for.
I’ll let you all know how I make out this.

Well I’ve finally got off my backside and started my quilting again. I really do need to get this quilting done as the work I’m suppose to complete is for a lady that wants three quilts by this Christmas. You would think that knowing this project is going to make me some money, that I would be quickly pumping out these quilts, but no, that isn’t the way it’s working out. But I have convinced myself that this work needs to be completed. So I have hauled out my sewing machine, safety cutters, and all the fabric and I am good to go.

Years ago I went back to school and got my Marketing diploma. One of the courses that I took that I thoroughly enjoyed was market research. So I’m pretty sure that this is the direction that I would like to take for my next job. I really enjoyed all the aspects of this course and I really think I would enjoy myself in this type of field. Right now I would love to find a job like this working from home, but when the kids get a little older, I will be looking at this type of job out in the real world.

My husband has been employed as a mechanic for the past ten years at the same company. For the most part he really does enjoy working at this particular place, but lately he has been feeling that a change is needed. Not sure if it’s a midlife crises, or if it’s just time to move on. lol So yesterday he took his resume to a couple of other job sites to see if he gets any bites. I’m not real sure what he would do if another company expressed interest in him (he despises change), but I guess we will soon see if someone does actually call him. So, there could be some changes ahead in my house and I’m not really sure if were ready for all that. But, if it makes him happier to start looking around, then I say “all the power to him”.

After being without a full time job for the past six months, I have had a few ideas kicking around my head as to what I would like to do next. One of the ideas that I have been seriously looking at is becoming a real estate agent. This type of career looks like it could be quite profitable. The only problem is coming up with the money to pay for the real estate course itself. But, once I have this extra money set aside, I am really going to take a closer look at this type of career.

Since starting up my small home crafting business and setting up a website to display all the products that I have for sale, I have not had a whole lot of traffic to this site. So, I have decided to try something different to get the word out about my brand new site. This weekend I am going to a craft fair and I will be giving away some personalized pens to prospective buyers. After doing a little research, I have found this to be an effective advertising method to get the word out. Hopefully by giving away these pens, I will be able to drive a little extra traffic to my site.
