I cleared out my craft room, found all my supplies and this past weekend bought all the fabric I will need to create my first quilt in almost four years. I can’t wait to get started and will start on this quilt this afternoon after I’ve written up some articles on malpractice insurance that I’ve promised an employer. At this moment I’d really rather be quilting but for now these articles bring in the paycheck so I have to stay focused and complete the paying jobs before I begin on a job where I might get some income from eventually. So…. after I’ve got a bit of this quilt made I’ll come back on in and posts some pics of my progress. Again, I can’t wait to get started!

When I did this type of venture a few years ago I made some pretty good money with it and had fun as well. So I’ve decided to try to start this project back up again. Yesterday I spent the day cleaning out my craft room and now today I have been sorting through all my craft supplies to see what I have and what I will need. Then this weekend my husband has promised to take me out fabric shopping. So I’m hoping by Monday I will be back into the quilting fever. I’ll keep you all posted and when I have a few quilts made I’ll take pics and upload photos. I’m getting quite excited and can’t wait to start!

We’ve barely gotten any snow and when we do get the snow within a couple of days it’s all gone! Last Friday we got hit with a pretty big snowstorm and now today as I sit here looking out my window I can once again see bare ground and all the address signs in the neighborhood as due to some massive heavy rains last night it took away all the snow. And even in January we are experiencing temps in the pluses instead of minuses. This isn’t great weather for those who enjoy our great Canadian snow, but for me it’s been one of the best winters in a long time. Hopefully this trend keeps up and before you know it winter will be gone and spring will be here once again.

We have made plans over the past couple of weeks but it really hasn’t panned out. We are supposed to go out this morning for coffee and honestly I am quite pleased about this. It will be nice to see an adult once again and have a chat and will also be great to get out of the house for a little while as well.

Honestly I think we are probably in the worst financial position that we have been in years. So I’ve really got to try to come up with some ideas on how to make more money. I suppose I could pick up more hours at work, but that isn’t really something I want to do as I’m not really happy at my job these days. I could always get into a new field such as learning all about reporting engine but that would require more school so more money would have to go out for training. Or I could always try to pick up more Internet work. Who knows. The only thing I do know at this point is I need more money and I really need to find a way to earn more.

Any suggestions?

So I thought that school would probably be cancelled today but it wasn’t. They did delay the buses for one hour so the work crews could do their thing with the sand and the salt. So I sent the kids out the door an hour later than they normally go and thought ok, I am ready for the day. Well you can imagine my surprise when 20 minutes later both kids showed back up at the door. They had missed the bus. My son was really okay with this, but man my daughter was mad. She loves school and hates to miss even one day. She’s calmer now, but man when she came back home she was in a temper. Oh well, these things happen. After all it is winter.

And when I say sick, I mean sick. I don’t get the flue very often, but when I do man it knocks me for a loop. I wasn’t able to do any housework, any cooking, anything on the computer and even missed a couple of work shifts as well. The kids and my husband did pitch in a little bit to help with the housework but the majority of it did not get done. But I’m feeling much better today so I think I’ll start to play catch up. Hopefully this flue stays away from me now for a very long time. I never want to put in another week like I did last week.

Well the search really isn’t going as well as I hoped it would. As things stand right now I think for a little while at least I going to have to continue to go to work at the crappy job that I currently have. I really wish I was trained as a cpa raleigh nc but since my education is a bit limited, I guess I’ll be stuck where I’m at for a little while longer. Oh, don’t worry I’m still looking at different avenues for employment, I just haven’t found the right one yet.

I went to a few craft fairs this past season but only sold stuff that I had already made up. But I did end up making a necklace and bracelet set for my father in law’s wife and this got me back into the crafting mode. So I have decided to keep this up and continue to create. I would love to be able to design my own funny t shirts and sell them, but since I am a creator and not a designer, I guess that kind of venture won’t be happening soon. But it does feel good to create handcrafted crafts once again so I’m hoping a can carve a few minutes a day to keep up with this.
